I just saw WHITE CHRISTMAS in San Francisco this past Tuesday...very Christmas-y. It was really good...all four of the leads (Brian d'Arcy James, Anastasia Barzee, Jeffrey Denman and Meredith Patterson) were great. Also worth a mention is Susan Mansur (who plays the Mary Wickes role)...she was hysterical.
Great production overall...I guess it won't be on Broadway. It's just going to play major cities at Christmastime. (I have two friends in the show so they told me.)

Posted: 12/11/04 at 7:45amI know the musical does not have a Christmas theme, but I like to listen to WE NEED A LITTLE CHRISTMAS from MAME once in a while during the holidays.

While I don't really care for the score, I always listen to HERE'S LOVE around Christmastime. It's the 1963 Meredith Wilson musical based on "Mirale on 34th Street".
I also listen to IRMA LA DOUCE. There's a lovely song at the end called "Christmas Child".
Trivia fact: Fred Gwynne (Herman Munster on the TV show) was in the original cast of both shows.

More Here's Love Trivia
There was a song in the show not on the cast album. It was called "The Plastic Alligator" & featured Fred Gwynne
A than unknown Michael Bennett was one of the dancers
It starred Craig (Peter Gunn) Stevens
I saw it & it was mindless entertainment. Wilson had one good score in him & that was Music Man. Every succeeding one was weaker

It's fun to listen to SHE LOVES ME, which gets Christmas-y in the second act.
The original - NOT the revival!
