He is an excellent choice! Hopefully we can avoid any more tragedies like 1776!
Great choice! Their programming as been extremely lackluster so hoping for a turnaround.
I loved his work on Diana.
This is a really great decision — and somewhat unexpected, being that he could run La Jolla and develop work there far away from Broadway, but then collect big commercial Broadway directing salaries (what some might call double dipping).
Glad to see he’ll be giving Roundabout a greater focus on new musicals.
My only complaint is that he doesn’t begin for 2 years! But these things take time.
It’s also interesting that LCT and Roundabout are going from ADs who were not directors by trade, to ADs who are also prolific directors. (At 2nd Stage, Carole used to direct but hadn’t in 20 years; Evan Cabnet gave up directing while at LCT3 but no word if he’ll resume at 2ST)
