Cinderella Cast Recording

IS the cast recording being sold at the theater?

Cinderella Cast Recording

Yes - I bought it Thursday night. It's gorgeous.
There's a concession stand in the box office
lobby. You can buy it there if you're not seeing
the show.

Get it on Amazon unless you want to pay thru the nose at the theater.

Yeah, it was $25. I didn't want to wait....
At least I didn't buy a tiara.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say this cast recording is one of my all time favorites, up there with the Ragtime OBCR. I can't stop listening to Loneliness of Evening

Cinderella Cast Recording

I listen to Loneliness of Evening and Prologue multiple times daily. I think this entire recording is exquisite.

Loneliness of Evening is one of the most beautiful songs ever. The harmonies! I could listen to Santino sing anything...

Cinderella Cast Recording

The harmonies on Loneliness of Evening should win a Tony and a Grammy. They are everything my ears could dream to desire since I first heard the recording. Just stunningly gorgeous.
Words don't deserve that kind of malarkey. They're innocent, neutral, precise, standing for this, describing that, meaning the other, so if you look after them you can build bridges across incomprehension and chaos. But when they get their corners knocked off, they're no good anymore…I don't think writers are sacred, but words are. They deserve respect. If you get the right ones in the right order, you can nudge the world a little.

I love the album and it really makes me want to see the show even more. But a few of my friends who have seen the show have said the album might be better than the show itself... Can anyone weigh in on that idea?

Cinderella Cast Recording

The album might be better and Cinderella is certainly a flawed production...but beautiful music is beautiful wherever. I mean how often does anyone get to hear Rogers and Hammerstein music live?

That said, it's also worth seeing it for wonderful performances of Cinderella and the prince (among others)..and frankly watching the magical changes of Cinderella's costumes are worth the price of admission alone.

I agree with Kathy, and there's another reason. Someday, maybe you'll play the music for your kids. Wouldn't you love to be able to tell them that you saw it sung LIVE?

I'd love to be able to play every recording of every show currently on Broadway and say I saw it live. Unfortunately, that's not an option right now. Cinderella Cast Recording But this show is currently high on my list if the opportunity to see another presents itself.
