Kay McClelland was terrific in everything - where is she now?
"With Every Breath I Take" is deceptively difficult to sing, with a really wide range; "It Needs Work" is on a par with "Could I Leave You?" for a controlled rage song.

Re Norbert as Stine - sorry, I just can't let it go - I've seen the show in three very different productions and it works best when Stine and Stone are different physical types with Stone being the traditional leading man and Stine not. Stone is Stine's fantasy alter-ego, after all.
Re Kay McClelland I think I heard she was now teaching or in Academia somewhere in Texas. Not sure of this. I'm also a huge fan of hers. Incidentally, if I can mention Bluegobo here... there is a clip on it of the City of Angels Tony performance which features "What You Don't Know About Women" and "You're Nothing Without Me".

I heard a rendition once where you could tell the girl was really struggling to get down there and the result came across as comical.

Yes, it's a very rangy song. The licensed version in not in the original key. Possibly the national tour key?
Also, "The Tennis Song"... talk about racy! This score has probably the most clever lyrics in a score in a very, very long time.
I had the privilege of performing in a production of this show in college. I was in the Angel City 4. Some of the hardest and most rewarding music to ever perform.

I would hate to see it fall victim to the use of video screen backgrounds for the entire show instead of those wonderful framing effects of the original production.
The Gallery Players production has no projections or video screen backgrounds. They use a unit set with simple pieces that flip up or down to change locations. Suprisingly effective. I never saw the original production, but I, too, hate when people download some images off Google and call it set design. This production is better than that.
Also, the black and white lighting effect is beautiful and works very well in the small space.
I know I'm pushing this production. I'm not a shill, even though I have some friends involved in the show, I just truly loved it.
