Personally, I'd say Stine. Someone who is more of a man's man might say Stone.
I think Stine is a better role, 9it is certainly more rounded and interesting.
Stine! Although it is a just a great show overall....have fun! It is so amazing!
Stine's a whiner. Stone! Stone! Stone!
Stine has a genuine character arc. Stone has the fun, campy bits. Take your pick.

Depends on what type of voice and body you have. Would you be more likely to be cast as a Writer type who is whiny, unsatisfied with the choice he made to write in Hollywood, and plays around?
Or would you be more likely to be cast as the Film Noir type of detective that Stone is? A kinda smarmy, smug detective who's always on the border between doing right and doing wrong?
If you are the type that could be cast as either character, listen to the songs from the cast album, and read the text from the City of Angels book. Discover who you identify with, or which character you enjoy more.
Then go for both anyway and hope you get the job! :)
What is your voice? Stine is a high baritone. Stone is a bass baritone.
Are you good at gymastic? Stone has chance to show good gymatic skills.
Stone was James Naughton's Tony winning role.
You need the suave leading man type for Stone.
On the other hand Stine gets to belt FUNNY, which is an incredible song.
Different roles, It's either you're right for one or the other.
