Have you guys seen the audience singing like this in the final performance of a musical?

I think it's really impressing.

5:10.  Ms. Ruiz reacts to the singalong.

I didn't see a reaction?

I believe this was the actress' last performance, not the closing performance, btw.

Where is this?

I see Ms. Ruiz start to smile and she even stops singing for a couple of seconds and just lets the audience sing - like it was a concert.   Oops. It wasn't 5:10, but a few second before that. Try at 5:01 and she stops around 5:07.

Yuck. Seems like the audience is wondering how to make the event about them being there and not the actor or show taking its final bow.

Closing performances are typically heightened experiences, but at the end of the day, I still would want to see the performers do the show.

Apparently this is common in the Brazilian theatre. At least that's what I'm being told on Facebook. I said how rude and obnoxious this was and then I was ambushed by a crowd of Brazilian asking how it was rude. I guess I should take off Brazil a country I want to visit.

Is this Brazil? Because that would make sense. Their fan bases for almost all entertainment fields are rabid.

This is the closing night of the musical, not only the Myra's last night. And to be honest, I thought this was actually pretty nice. They didn't sing during the whole show (just the last part of Defying) and pretty much everyone there had already seen the show before.

By the way, Myra Ruiz (Elphaba) posted on Instagra later that night the audience singing along to her song was "one of, if not the, most beautiful moments of my life" and thanked the fans for that.
