Did anything need to happen? They haven't been particularly active outside of Oh Mary-related things and could have simply just wanted to step away for a while.

People are just nosy and always think something major happened behind the scenes. They think they're entitled to know every little detail. Like when an actor calls out of  a show last minute. It's none of their buisness unless the actor chooses to disclose that information
