Come on ENGLAND

Come on ENGLAND

After watching England mawkish 1-1 draw last night, I am supporting England again tonight, hope you guys are too?

So come on,

Derek Hodges
Angela Lansbury
Catherine Zeta Jones (Some place called Wales)
A Little Night Music
La Cage Aux Folles
Red
Enron

Have I missed anyone?

After last years mauling of Broadway, with Billy massive haul of Tony's, I am sure we can do it again.

Come on England?

Come on ENGLAND

There doesn't seem to be the excitement about the Tonys on the Broadway board that there was last year.

And, yes, England's performance last night was mediocre.
#3

Come on ENGLAND

DOUGLAS HODGE!!!!

I swear you always call him Derek lol. I'll be logging on in the morning to find out the results.
#4

Come on ENGLAND

"I swear you always call him Derek"

Deliberate mistake here.

I too shall sleep through the Tonys but if the dawn chorus wakes me I might get up early to check out the results.
#5

Come on ENGLAND

You missed Eddie Redmayne, which is far more important to me for him to get a Tony tonight than any other people!
#6

Come on ENGLAND

No Doubt Our Paths Will Cross Again ! Matt
#7

Jude Law - he's pretty much English.

Hope the Tonys don't turn out to be as big a yawn as the game of soccer is. lol

So far so good, Team England! RED already scores 2!
#10

Come on ENGLAND

La Cage won director! Come on ENGLAND Means both directors of a play and a musical are British!
#11

Come on ENGLAND

Though Grandage, Redmayne and Molina are all British and Red started out at the Donmar, it was written by an American playwright, John Logan so it's a mixture of union jack and stars and stripes (so if it wins Best Play the Yanks will definitely claim it lol).

Come on ENGLAND

Well I find myself at at this brilliant hour, that is jet-lag for you, after falling asleep on the settee for a couple of hours, just had a emergency bath as I have people in today to finish my bathroom, so one thing to do and catch up on the Tony's, live is not bad after all.

Delighted that Terry Johnson got his Tony for his direction of La Cage Aux Folles and that Red has done very well. Pleased Memphis and American Idiot have been recognised too, as both are very good.

Come on ENGLAND

Stunned that Angela did not win Best Featured Actress in a Musical. I know that many people have raved about Katie Finneran but I did not see anything particularly memorable about her performance in Promises Promises. In fact, to be honest, I don't even remember her performance in Promises Promises LOL.

Well, she already got featured actress like LAST YEAR. The honorary award already recognize her achievement this year.

Come on ENGLAND

That Memphis song was so cheesey, i feel like i need a bath after watching it lol

Come on ENGLAND

I don't see that the fact Angela won a Tony lasy year has to do with anything. If her performance this year deserved a Tony, that's all that should count. And I thought her Mme Armfeldt was a tour de force. And my main point was I can't see why Finneran won as I found nothing particularly special in her performance even worthy of being nominated to be honest, let alone to win the gong.

Looks like The Addams family has missed out on everything, what a shame it was very very good in IMHO.

Come on ENGLAND

RED got best play! Well, John Logan is an American, but still...
#22

Come on ENGLAND

Come Fly Away should have got choreography, that's twice he has won when I did not agree (now for Fela and 2007851095321 for Spring Awakening)

I also must be missing something with Memphis, average score, book, talent etc, American Idiot is far better
Namo i love u but we get it already....you don't like Madonna
#23

Come on ENGLAND

Thrilled for Red but sad for Next Fall since it will probably announce its closing now
Namo i love u but we get it already....you don't like Madonna

Come on ENGLAND

LA CAGE got revival musical! Great day for the Queen's land!
#25

Come on ENGLAND

I thought I was the only one awake, at this ungodly hour.

You know SADM, I really disagree with you on this one, American Idiot was very good, but did not deserve best scenic, the best scenic IMO was not even nominated, that was The Addams Family, my opinion comes from how diverse they made a comprehensive set work and how the creators also payed intrigued detail to the set, with the curtain tussles, which was great fun and great imagination.

However American Idiot won best lighting which I 100% agree with, as it was brilliant done.

La cage just got best revival, 99.9% deserved. All 3 broadway productions have got the Tony.
