Hello, was wondering if anyone could help me? I am looking for some great comedy numbers and seem to be a bit lost when it comes to Laugh Out Loud moments.
I am working on a musical compilation revue and what something different than the average Mr Cellophane and Little Girls.
The songs don't have to be from musicals but they need to be standout.
I am looking for either solo's, duets or trio's with 2 females and 1 male.
The only great new song i have heard is No One Let's You In The Opera If Your A Country Star by Kelli O'Hara.
Thanks for your time
"You were dead, you know" is, in my opinion one of the funniest songs in CANDIDE.

I like "The Creation of Man" from The Scarlet Pimpernel
Thats defiantly one thats on my list! completely forgot about she loves me!
You should check out Alto's Lament. Also, if you have someone who can pull it off, maybe Whatever Happened To My Part, from Spamalot.
Look up The Temp and The Receptionist by Kooman and Diamond. It is yet to make it into a musical, but it is very funny.
Alternatively, look at the tracklisting for Christ Thatcher's Jesus Christ Superstar http://www.amazon.co.uk/Jesus-CHRIS-Superstar-Chris-Thatcher/dp/B0085MHEOA
There are a few skits on it, but several are full musical theatre numbers, all are hilarious.
I love chris his song I'm In Love is insane! But I fear there would be a heart attack from the blue rinse brigade at the song lol Thanks for the suggestions so far guys they are so helpful
"Model Behavior" was the only part of WOMEN ON THE VERGE that's worth pilfering for future use. It's a pretty tremendous comic tour de force for the right actress.
Look at Fame Becomes Me by Shaiman and Wittman for tons of hilarious comedy numbers.
I find "Everyone's a little bit racist" from Avenue Q, beyond hillarious.
Sondheim's "Love I Hear" (FORUM) is very funny if done well. It's a solo.
The same writer's "We're Gonna Be Alright" is the funniest duet written for musical theater if you get the original lyrics (used in SIDE BY SIDE BY SONDHEIM).
"The Country's in the Very Best of Hands" from Li'l Abner could be done in a tongue-in-cheek manner
The Sensitive Song from Cops (you can find it on the NEO concert album).
To Excess which is on the album "Out of Our Heads" is VERY funny.

Naughty, Naughty Nancy (Little Mary Sunshine)
Gee, Officer Krupke from West Side Story comes to mind.
A lot of the numbers in Candide are hilarious if done well (see Patti Lupone's "I Am Easily Assimilated" or all of "Life is Happiness Indeed")

The first one that came to my mind was "Comedy Tonight" but that may find most of its comedy in the staging.

The Tony Award song from [Title of Show] though short is a good one. Anything from Silence! And Serious from Legally Blonde has me rolling every time I hear it.
I Can Cook Too from OTT (Ok maybe only funny if really delivered right)
One Hundred Easy Ways from WOnderful Town
Im Breaking Down (Falsettos - and In Trousers)
I Never Do Anything Twice (Sondheim for hte movie 7 Percent Solution)
Big Ass Rock from Full Monty is a very funny song but for three men.
You Rule My World from the same show is also super-funny and a duet.
I Just Baptized Her from Book of Mormon is a funny duet for one male and one female.
When You Love Someone It Makes You Want To Kill Them from Avenue Q is a duet for two females.
The Song That Goes Like This from Spamalot for a man and a woman.
I Hmmnnnnn You by Pasek and Paul
15 Pounds is a very funny song for a woman by Heislr and Goldrich.
