Based on your favourites shows and performers in your profile, I would suggest Spring Awakening.
I've seen neither, and I absolutely love the show Company, but I think you'll like SA.

I just saw Company last Friday, and enjoyed it very much- I love Sondheim; and as a long married woman, the show's theme certainly connects with people like me. But you HAVE to see Spring Awakening! It is not to be missed- I've seen it both Off and on Broadway several times, and each time I find more to appreciate in the acting, the staging, and most of all- the phenomenal music.
See SA!

I was trying to make the same choice for my NY trip, but I think I'm just going to have to splurge on both and be broke for a while.

I'm dying to see SA. Not because I wasn't a Company fan but because of all I'm hearing about SA from the young people I work with. I'm old, but they assure me I'll love the show. They've all seen it on comps which is probably a thing of the past by now.

Haven't seen SA but can highly recommend Company - saw it in November, going back next week, and probably again after that. Great Sondheim music and lyrics, good to great performances, unique Doyle staging and insight.

I think you'll enjoy whichever one you chose. They're both great shows. But I will suggest Spring Awakening because I want to generate all the business for the show I can.
A little swash, a bit of buckle - you'll love it more than bread.

In 15 years you'll feel so much better about seeing Company than Spring Awakening.

This was my EXACT dilemma, so I can identify with many of the people posting. I had no idea about either show, but had heard RAVES for both of them from several people who had seen the shows. Plus, I knew that Company was being staged as Sweeney Todd was, so I knew that would be wonderful.
In the end, I decided upon Spring Awakening in its 3rd official preview, and I could NOT be happier. Especially after its incredible reviews after its opening, i feel like I caught something before it got huge (Kind of like seeing Wicked in previews... except without the hoardes of teen girls.)!
...basically, my point is, i'm sure you'll be happy with whatever you choose (I know I would have been), but if I had to choose for you, i'd say Spring Awakening!
Have a great time!

It's a moot point, because Company, unfortunately, doesn't have student rush on the weekends.
Hope you enjoy Spring Awakening, though!

Yes it does. Talkin' Broadway and any other sites listing the Tuesday-Thursday policy are wrong. As Company's official website says, rush tickets are available two hours before every performance, weekends now included.

I feel that way now. I know that I'm in the minority about the show but I was rather unimpressed with Spring Awakening.

COMPANY simply because I don't think its going to stay open for much longer.
