Ooh, you saw Katrina Yaukey as April? I had been really curious to hear about that, but didn't know anybody who had seen her. What did you think? I saw her play Marta and Kathy.

Katrina Yaukey's Marta was far greater than Angel Desai's. Seeing Angel the second time I saw the show was actually a let down from seeing Yaukey. I still cannot understand that casting decision...

Back to Miss Winter:

When I saw Benjamin Eakeley play Anthony, she had to play the entire cello part off-stage. It was very interesting to see, and I was very intrigued to see how it would work: what would an actor do onstage without ever touching an instrument? He seemed a little lost, obviously. The show wasn't designed for an instance like that. Elisa dressed as Pirelli [minus the Pirelli properties] and sat on a folding chair on the SR side halfway between stage and wing with the cello and a music stand with light.

I did like Katrina's take on Marta itself, but what bothered me about her playing that role was that she didn't play violin -- so in all of the full-cast scenes, she was the only person other than Bobby not to be playing an instrument, which really threw things off. Separating Bobby that way was REALLY important. Maybe it bothered me so much because I was so familiar with the show, but it seemed to stick out like a sore thumb. The same thing happened when Rob Cunningham was out. I did still like Angel better (and I was used to her), but I liked a lot of Katrina's choices, and I like her voice a lot, too. Her Kathy just... did not work for me.

I know, I see how it is. It's MY fault you two are so full of inane, empty comments. I'm just an awful big, bad bully -- you two never did a thing. For f*ck's sake, really, whose fault is it that there cannot be a Company thread without conflict? That every time I make a comment about this show, it has to turn into one pathetic poster or another turning it into a series of attacks on me. I can't post without someone having what to say, and frankly, everyone can see whose fault it actually is when I post on topic and someone else comes in to yap about what a bitch I am. I should have a nickel for every thread in which I, like everyone else, merely comment on the topic at hand and CPD so gallantly marches in to talk about what an idiot I am. Well, I'm rubber, you're glue, my friend -- and I am FAR from in the mood to put up with a tag-team of an offensive, obnoxious child and a bitterly age-ist human density experiment gone wrong. But go on, please, keep playing the rest of cyber space for a hoard of fools. That is all you will continue to be.
