Sorry
And I just had foot surgery. So?
Oooh, should we be really nice to you because of how sad and pathetic you are? Maybe that means I should be able to get away with whatever I want, too.
God, I've never seen someone so miserably hungry for attention.
Well I'm gay, you're a fag hag, I really don't see how we can't get along.
It's like red and yellow can't mix together to make orange.
Because I have standards.
Your picture doesn't work, and I suspect I speak for many when I say I do not care to see it.
Can we talk about Company now?
I like the song "Sorry Grateful!"
Did anyone see Renee (I think she was the Joanne understudy) go on for Barbara? How was she?
I'd love to hear someone other than Barbara Walsh singing "Ladies who Lunch!"
She was also Kristin's understudy. Did anyone see her play Sarah?
If you didn't, Em, chances are nobody did! :o)
I would love to see someone else take Joanne. With the exception of Bobby, a different Joanne could MAJORLY change the dynamic of the show.
I'd love to see what Elaine Stritch would do with the role.

I'll drink to that!
Heh, there are a handful of understudy performances that I didn't see! I saw Jane Pfitsch as Amy before Heather came in, Brandon Ellis (I think) go on for Paul, and I saw Katrina on for Marta and then Kathy a few months later. I had tickets for the last performance that Raúl missed... but I chickened out. :/
I didn't know Mano never missed a show, I thought that Ben Eakley went on for him a couple times?

*heart flutter* Oh Jane Pfitsch. How I loved your Amy.
I saw Company three times and didn't see a single understudy. I kind of wish I had.
Ben Eakeley went on for the Beadle a number of times. I saw him more than I saw Alex, I think. He was good.
I wish I had seen Bradley Dean play Bobby that first weekend he went on. I had been wanting to see him, but at the very end, I just couldn't do it.

Woah, 'tudes galore on this thread.
I did like Katrina's take on Marta itself, but what bothered me about her playing that role was that she didn't play violin -- so in all of the full-cast scenes, she was the only person other than Bobby not to be playing an instrument, which really threw things off.
That does really change the dynamics of the show, and it's odd that they allowed that. I know it was probably difficult to find understudies who could sing, act, and play whatever instruments the principals did, but still. If an audience member saw the show once, and it was for that performance, they would leave with a very different take on the show.
I'd also like to know if anyone saw Barbara's understudy, or Raul's. I've heard Brandon's performance, but didn't see it. Did anyone see him?
I did not like Jane's Susan - at. all. Maybe it was an off night, but she really didn't seem to be in good voice. The lines that Susan usually belts out in the beginning of "Not Getting Married Today" stunk - it sounded like she was whispering. And her accent was weak.
I've heard Brandon's performance, but didn't see it. Did anyone see him?
Yeah, I saw him back in January. I thought he was excellent. I remember thinking that he was much warmer & more personable than Raul was in the role. He didn't seem as set apart from the other characters.
Edit: Talking about Bradley Dean, not Brandon Ellis.
I think there was a thread about Bradley's Bobby, actually. I'll see if I can find it.
Wait, are we talking about Brandon [Ellis] or Bradley?
Interesting note as well, when I was looking in the playbill closing show, it also said that in addition to Bradley Dean covering Bobby, that Fred Rose was also a cover.
Brandon Ellis was one of the male swings -- he went on as Paul. Bradley Dean was Raúl's standby.
Bradley Dean as Bobby:

If I remember correctly, it was technically that Bradley was the standby and Fred was the understudy. Before they found a standby, though, he was the only cover for Bobby.
