UGH! Raines played it like 20 years ago. Can't get a more boring choice than him.
Oh well. I'm excited for Burstein.

I think Ron Raines is a good choice actually and will fit well with Peters and Maxwell. He may have done the role twenty years ago but he's closer to the right age for the part now.
Burstein if anything will seem a little young opposite this trio - I hope they keep in some of Buddy's dancing in this production.

I'm curious as to what you actually have to do to get banned on this site nowadays. You would think that posting exclusively to shill a site that exists solely for trading bootlegs and pirated audio would be enough, but apparently not.

In spite of my being something of a FOLLIES purist (I believe the original book was the best version.. and possible among the best books to a musical ever written) I simply don't buy Buddy breaking into a showy presentational dance break in the middle of THE RIGHT GIRL. Buddy wasn't a performer and - at least with the original production- Gene Nelson's non-performer Buddy burns the stage with his expert hoofing.
Of course during the "Follies" sequence it makes sense, but beforehand it sticks out as a concession to casting a dancer like Nelson.

The segue of my post is from the claims that an 'audio' will be made and shared.
In this interview Tommy Krasker (ps classics) says that the Sondheim show he'd most like to record is "Follies"
http://www.psclassics.com/feature_krasker-interview.html
" I would love to record a great production of Follies sometime: you know, record an expansive 2-CD set of a production that rivaled the original in casting and scope."
I 'feel' like a cast recording will come out of this production :P.
