The matinee was packed, the evening show was a 60-70%
Why is TWS mainly a matinee show?
Yesterday's matinee was sold out, I had to get standing room.
Wednesday matinee's are "g-rated" aka no curses
For those of you who have seen this production, approx. what percentage of the time is "Sammy" on stage?

Thanks for the reply - 75% stage time sounds very good to me. Constantine is gonna be AMAZING in this role!
I have just purchased tickets to see my first Broadway play. I'll be seeing WS on Sept. 16th - 8pm show. Seats are in the first row - Mezzanine right side.
2 "newbie" questions:
1. Are these seats gonna seem far away from the stage (up too high)?
2. Cameras/video cameras allowed?
Thanks.

1. No. Great view in any seat in that theater.
2. NO!!!
Enjoy the show.
Matthew was my favorite part of the show. I can't bear to see Constantine in the role. Even though this is only temporary, this is still makes me very sad.

I think Constantine will do a surprisingly great job as Sammy. He is a hard worker, is thrilled to death to be there, he wants to help make it a great show, and his heart is in it 100%. I know he will give his all. I hope you will give him a chance. I don't think you will be disappointed! He's also out there promoting The Wedding Singer every chance he gets which is sure to boost interest in the show and sell some tickets as well.
Sammy isn't onstage THAT much. It's a small role and I'm surprised he took it.

I saw Constantine in Rent a couple years ago, he does have a nice rock voice, but is stage presence was aweful. He was very weak and would not quit playing with his hair, so here is to hoping he has grown as an actor.
I saw him tonight at TWS observing.

Since Constantine was in Rent he truly has grown into an amazing performer. He commands the stage and owns it! His stage presence will not be a problem. He gives 110^ and then some. You'll be pleasantly surprised!
It's official--he is starting tonight instead of Friday..this was found on his MySpace blog:
"So...
I have never been "put in" to a show before. Meaning, I have never joined a show in progress.
It's...interesting.
Without the luxury of dress rehearsals, notes with the director and so forth...it's also frustrating.
Yes...they are sneeking me in Tuesday 9/5
I will do the rest of the week and hopefully by Friday I actually know where I am going and what the hell I wear in each scene. lol
These shows will serve as my dress.
I would say come the 8th and after...please?
There will be enough people judging me and saying how bad I suck before than. lol
Love,
C~"
Aww he sounds a bit nervous. Break a leg, Constantine. Hope he's given a chance to prove himself.
Anyone here already going tomorrow?

I know Constantine will be amazing in this role. I know he has the abilities and talent to be very successful.
Tomorrow and the 8th will be so exciting!
I think Constantine will be great. I hope I get to see him sometime this month.
Not to beat a dead horse or anything...but I think that many fans of Lynch's comedy aren't farmiliar with broadway. I think a lot of them are waiting for him to leave the Wedding Singer and return to his comedy. Personally, I knew of Stephen Lynch before the Wedding Singer and he was one of the reasons I had wanted to see it so badly.

I saw a review of a fan. She said he did great, sang well, danced amazingly well--up and down stairs--and was cheered which surprised him.
The whole cast got a standing ovation!
After the show, he was greeted by many who were waiting for him and he signed their autographs and had pictures taken.
BTW, I will see the pictures so I will post some of them here.

sweetconni, didn't you mention in another thread that his fanboard broadcast the entire show last night via their cellphones and some internet hookup or something? Are there doing it again tonight and where can everyone listen in?

Hello all,
I'm a Constantine fan from Amer. Idol (and yes, I am an educated person, though I've never been to a Broadway play)... from several fans, and even some of the crew, I've read informal reviews of Con's FIRST appearance with the ENTIRE cast (during last night's performance, which served as a sort of live dress rehearsal for him, even though it was an actual performance of the show)... the crew was very complimentary toward him, said he did very well, and they were surprised, given that he's only been rehearsing for two weeks, and had never had the advantage of a full dress rehearsal before performing for an audience... and just from watching him on Amer. Idol and hearing (and seeing vids of) his various musical performances since then... I'm not surprised that he got such praise! As others have mentioned, he has "serious acting cred"... and he ALWAYS gives 110%... he really wants Wedding Singer to be helped by his performance, and he wants to work WITH the current cast... he's a team player, he's talented, and I do hope all you Broadway junkies will keep at least a sliver of an open mind about him! He's charismatic, he's very talented, he works very hard, and he cares about his fans and the other cast members. Vive le Constantine! lol
What I have heard among the theater crowd buzz has all been positive thus far, being both theatergoers and critics can be tough on a performance and/or even the most established stars. I tend to take the word of these people into more consideration than I would some common Constantine fan board where things are way too biased and don't form a clear and original opinion, in addition to most (but not all) on such fan boards being neither very theater cultured nor in the business itself.

Well, good (to Into the Night, above me)... perhaps hearing praise of him from "objective observers" (ha! as if those exist!), this praise which his fans have been consistently predicting he will gain all along, will convince those of you who seem to think his fans are blind and deaf, as well as ignorant! Constantine appeals to a broad spectrum of fans. Those of us who are already fans are delighted that more people are being given the opportunity, thru the Wedding Singer, to experience his many talents and his undeniable charisma. We are happy that his appearances will broaden both his appeal, and the appeal of the WS itself. Maybe we can be disciplined enough to withhold the "I told you so's"... maybe! LOL! The bottom line, though, it's all about the work, and his is quite remarkable!

Threadjack.
I thought the above poster was "Jane2" and I was thinking..."That's not something she would write, is it?"
haha
//threadjack
Is a threadjack such a bad idea at this point?
:)
