He was great in WEDDING SINGER and we know he was in RENT and other shows. He loves musical theatre. I wish him well in this

He was always scheduled to leave WS on December 3rd wheather or not the show was closing

Posted: 11/3/06 at 11:48amI am not happy about this at all. I don't think he is going to be good in the role. I've seen both Drew and Jim in the role and I just can't picture Constantine. Him being Sammy and the role he will take on in Brel are so different. I'm really not sure he can pull it off. It's not the same type of show and you don't perform it the same way. It's going to be a kick in the ass for him vocally. Going from a show where he doesn't REALLY sing and doesn't get emotional to a show that is constant singing and probably has the most emotion of any show I've seen.

Constantine has been Roger in RENT, so I'm guess that won't be much of an issue for him.
I'm a bit hesitant about seeing him in Brel as I'm really not a fan of , but I'm going to reserve judging whether or not he can pull it off until after I see it.
He has some big shoes to fill, after Drew and Jim's amazing performances.

Posted: 11/3/06 at 1:29pmThis is one of my most favorite all time shows. It will be interesting to see how well he does in it. I certainly will not argue that it will be a contrast from his current stint as Sammy in Wedding Singer...only this time around, his time in Brel will be a shorter stay (6-7 weeks, I believe).

I'm very excited to see Constantine do Jacques Brel.
I just saw him at the Cutting Room on Halloween. He sang his heart out. He did some numbers from Hedwig that just blew everyone away.
I think he'll be able to handle it.
I just hope the weather is calm this winter so I can make back to the city to see it in January.

Just wondering if you've heard his latest stuff? It's more mainstream pop, with a theater flavor to it.
His voice is much better suited to Broadway than to rock.

I totally agree; he is totally more Broadway (or in the case of Jacques, Off-Broadway, lol) than 'rocker' type things. I too hope for a calm winter for all going to see him in the role :)

A role that you need to literally make your OWN character. There is no set way to do things. Drew and Jim do things completely different. And it is a even more emotional role then Roger in RENT and a completely different type of emotion.

Fantastic. I've been a big fan of his since American Idol. Ever since I learned that he toured as Roger, I've been... well, an even bigger fan.
Anyone want to take a stab at how long he'll be in the production?

All these people have been successful after Idol because they work hard and have talent. Constantine came to Broadway with a I've studied Theater and with his AI credentials got into Wedding. According to reports MR. fantastic was mediocre in fact in the recent "2006 awards" peers and fans gave him the worst replacement award.Please don't mention other Idols in a negative way to jack up his image.

LOL! This is true. He has performed many varied roles in his years of work, I'm looking forward to seeing him do well in Brel, it's a great challenge, and I think he will do it justice and more.
With his training and background, one could argue that it was more of a fluke that he ended up on AI than it ever was that he is now working on Broadway and off-Broadway stages...
