I think riding camels entails too much sweating for the man in question, however. He might get very upset.

And the hair? We don't question the hair. re: Context of 'Seasons of Love' in Rent film (Besides, stolen is better than blue.)

Well, perhaps it will do better, because in the musical it's placed at the beginning of the 2nd act, and with a movie there is no intermission, so I can see how it could disrupt the flow.

That's what I like to hear, Steven! re: Context of 'Seasons of Love' in Rent film

Agreed, Emcee.

"Updated Mondays and Wednesdays."

There's always hope for this upcoming Monday...!

Wait, is that true? Mondays and Wednesdays?

Rock on.

And, for somebody who takes a *year* to answer his e-mails, a blog entry would be faaaaabulous.

The movie does indeed open with SOL. Someone on CB posted his/her experience on the set where she was invited to see the first few minutes of footage, and it opened with SOL and everyone standing there singing. Apparently, it's them singing, with flashbacks and present flashes of each of their lives pre and during Rent.

This ties in with what Anthony said about the opening being "a beautiful way to bridge the worlds of theatre and film."

I personally love the idea. I think it's great.

maybe, a la chicago's fantasy sequences that are in the character's heads, there will be a sequence of someone near death of his/her friends, partner singing....

That's what I had assumed, Solitary Rose, based on some "teaser" like information I'd pieced together - I think it's going to be beautiful.

I guess Seasons of Love is the logical choice for the opening of the film, though it's an awfully sentimental way to start a rock opera.

I'm really excited that it opens with Seasons of Love! I think that it would be really strange and just sort of stop the movie if all of the sudden they started singing Seasons of Love.

When Anthony first mentioned that Rent wasn't the first song, I immediately thought of SOL. It just kind of made sense, they're singing about how they measure a year, then the whole movie shows a year in their lives.

MTVMANN, the Annie movie adaptation was horrible, and taking out Tomorrow was only one of the many mistakes that was made. I think Rent is going to be much more in-line with the stage show than that movie was.
