What role did he play in The Producers in London?

he was Max Bialystock in The Producers
Awww... Chis is so brilliant in the role! And I never got to see him. Ah well. Congrats to Cory.
I LOVE this guy
We had him at the Manchester Palace Theatre here in the UK for 3 months when he stared as Max in the Producers tour, a very big deal is it also starred Peter Kay who is a very famous comedian here in the UK and he just starred in the show at our theatre.
Corey was incredible, he stole the show every night and often got standing Ovations.I loved watching him in the show every night (i work there im not some obsessed producers nut lol).
And even better was the fact that off stage he was the nicest man in the world, he was always dead chatty with the staff and always asked how you were etc (he did have very questionable taste in tracksuits though lol)
I was very excited to see this. He was Barnaby in the DOLLY revival, which was my first Broadway show . . . very influential.

I saw Corey do Max in London and he was fantastic. I'm surprised the press release only mentions he was IN The Producers, rather than saying he starred as Max. That's some oversight in my humble opinion. I wish him the best in this new role. I think he was recently a Dad too. Congrats Corey !
Anyone know what Fitzgerald's got goin' on???
i think he's going to be in starring in Minsky's on Broadway starting next year. i believe they're having previews in LA in January and February i believe.

Young Frankenstein is one of my favorite shows to see Chris leave is sad because in my opinion no one can play Igor like him. I hope this guy is really good because Igor is a big part of the show.
i agree, i really hope he is good too. he brings an energy to the character i haven't seen anyone else do. :)

Indeed no one can play it like him - English may be better as may any other actor taking the part but time will tell!
If memory serves correctly English was stand by or walking understudy for both the leads in The Producers. I ma not sure if he went on for Lee Evans. When Lane pulled out of the show because of back trouble towards the end of his run, English wnet on and was terrific.
Thats good to hear that he was great I hope he does really well because like I said I have not seen another actor play the role as great as Chris
I think that Cory English was the standby, and then officially took over as Max after both Nathan Lane and Brad Oscar left the London production.
I saw him in the Channing Dolly! tour. He was fantastic.
Replacements are inevitable for shows that run over a year on Broadway. I don't think it's fair to count English out before seeing him in the role.
"Awww... Chis is so brilliant in the role! And I never got to see him. Ah well. Congrats to Cory."
And how can you claim Fitzgerald is brilliant in the role, he is, by the way, without seeing him?
And even better was the fact that off stage he was the nicest man in the world, he was always dead chatty with the staff and always asked how you were etc (he did have very questionable taste in tracksuits though lol)
He was exactly the same way at Ogunquit. Really pleasant and overall funny guy.
I actually had no interest in seeing Young Frankenstein but now I may try to go before it closes. It's so neat to see a familar name attached to the show.

So Leveal and Fitzgerald are in Minksy's? I know it's rehearing right next door to Young Frank, so that's good for them.

Sucks that he'll only get to play it for a few weeks. Maybe he'll join the tour?
yea, Beth Leavel and Christopher Fitzgerald are going to be in Minsky's. But Beth Leavel isn't leaving until December 20th.
