Now that the first preview has been delayed until March 6, they have a few weeks to find a new Sheila before rehearsals begin.
And.....just because Groff did an Off B'way show...that doesn't mean he worked for Off B'way minimums. Perhaps as first stated he truly had other committments or didn't WANT to. Or wanted to take a break!
And maybe Creel needs a job because his Mary Poppins $ ran out! Maybe he loves the role. Maybe he's not getting paid minimum.
Really, just happy he's doing it and that this show is going forth...even though I'm dissappointed about not getting to see this in Feb as planned.

I think the speculation is on why Gavin would take the role is hysterical. He is a talented guy who will bring this show to another level with his singing and acting. What he is being paid or why he would take such a terrific part, well, that's for Gavin to say not any of us. I am glad he is doing it.
Ours is not to reason why...

Indeed it was. She was also a tremendous Brooklyn. I would love the producers to think outside the box and consider her for Sheila.
