Bounce. I just got the CD. I love it.

And of course Jekyll & Hyde and The Scarlet Pimpernel!!! Pimpernel is a God among insects of the musical theatre. And Jekyll out lived all new shows of the '97 season so I consider it to be a success even if the critics didn't like it. But the critics liked SP 3.0 which was the best version of the show. Even Brantly praised it.

Saw TITANIC twice on tour and loved it. And saw the tour of SEUSSICAL with Cathy Rigby and it was just awesome. I'll never forget it.

THE BOY FROM OZ --

An interesting case - it was critically panned but is now a nominee for a TONY best musical award. The grosses for last week indicate that they have hit their best capacity ratio to-date at 98 %.

And it seems likely that the star of the show will sweep all the theatre awards on his Broadway debut . It is not also bad for the show that Hugh is the back-to-back host for the TONY AWARDS. Plus all the plugs for OZ from the Van Helsing publicity campaign must have helped raise awareness for the show, as last week's grosses seemed to indicate.

One question though - is there life ( for the show) after Hugh?

Why not ???

Little Shop of Horrors (revival)
Wicked (well, mixed reviews)


If a show is critically roasted, and my friends/family hate it, I usually don't go. If these shows were actually good, though, maybe I should stop listening to critics.

Big (This musical is very special to me for some reason)
Footloose (This one is awesome!)
Seussical
Steel Pier
The Triumph of Love (This show had SUCH good music!)
The Graduate (The movie is one of my favorites, and I enjoyed the Broadway version. Now... remind me why Kathleen Turner did not get a Tony nomination.)

I agree with Sarava & Big. I liked all of them you mention but Mack & Mabel got mixed reviews. I do not recall it getting a critical drubbing like Oz or DOTV
