Cry Baby:First Preveiw

I just got back from the first preveiw of Cry Baby. It was AMAZING! The cast was fabulous. The costumes were great. Act 1 started with a nice little square song. Than the drapes got involved! James Sneider and everyone was amazing! The songs were flawless and the energy never wore out! Act 1 was great, it could use a little tightning up but it was great. Than came intermission. I went into the aisle and i realized John Waters was 4 rows ahead of me! I went up to him, i complemented on the show, and he signed my play bill! I told him the choreography was Tony worthy and he said Act 2 was even better. It was. The show in all was amazing! If you have any questions post them here. Oh, and for Hairspray vs. Cry Baby, i'd say cry baby!

Wow. Such a different opinon than the other review thread.
Weird how one can think something is trash and another will love it.
But who am I to judge, I love many flops.

I liked it too...it has problems (the first 20 minutes) but I did see the first preview. Some outstanding stuff in the show. Great potential. I loved it and will go back/tell friends to see it.

As much as I loved Cry Baby in San Diego, I have friends who hated it. It's not a show for everyone and I gather the show will have its ardent supporters and its ardent haters. One thing is for sure- it's not a bland ultra-commercial show but a show that reflects John Waters' unique brand of humor.

hmmmm....

I gotta say, it's the worst musical I have ever seen. Worse than Dracula, worse than The Frogs. I would write a review but there's nothing to comment on. It was just plain awful.

He's a faker, and you've been taken in by his con. And in doing so, you are enabling him. He is doing more damage to aspergers than papa's words ever could. -Chane/Liverpool on me having asperger syndrome.

i love John Waters, so that wasnt my problem with the show.
