You know, regardless of the quality of the show, I think it's great that they're having this offer for facebook users. I wish more shows would do stuff like this. It's too bad I don't live near NY, cause I really would love to take advantage of it, so I can see this show and form my own opinion about it. Hopefully it'll still be around in August when I come up to New York.

If I wasn't already seeing Chris Rock at the Garden that night, I'd consider going to this. Kudos to them for trying some out of the box marketing strategies.

and the bashing starts.

If you didn't like the show. Stop commenting about it.

Facebook Night is an extremely clever idea and will really bring in the young crowd Cry-Baby longs for.

^ Amen to that!

And it's just for one night. How is that a stunt? I think it's a cool idea and I'm definately going to take advantage of it.

The show has great dancing, great music and it's simply a lot of fun. It is possible that another reason I love it so much is because I expected to HATE it based on what everyone here said and I was so surprised that I liked it. And now I love it. So :p

yeah, for free.

nothing clever about it -- the show needs $$ right now, not just butts in the seat (who couldn't care less)

I can keep commenting. it's the beauty of the internet. I have an opinion and I will continue to voice it.

Of course you can keep saying what you like. It's great. And I'm gonna keep saying that I disagree.

despite a couple of decent musical numbers, some wonderful dancing, a lovely performance from Alli and Christopher, and a few good jokes -- what's SO good about the show?

I actually would like to be enlightened. I've seen it and I just have trouble with the show as a whole. The score especially. God, it's so bland.

I'm confused- So since I RSVPed on facebook, someone will contact me to give me free tickets? Or I have to go to the box office and be one of the first 200 there?

I'm not saying it's the BEST show ever and I admit there are problem areas. I think the second half of act 1 drags a bit. But I personally enjoy it. I had a good time seeing it. It's a matter of taste and what you're in the mood for. That's why I don't think anyone can say a show is truly good or bad because it's all in the eye of the beholder.

Liotte,

Only the first 20 people to RSVP received a message saying that they won the free tickets. The remaining promotional tickets are available at the box office for $20+$1.50 on a first come, first served basis. If you print out the facebook invitation and go to the box office on Wednesday, you should be able to get tickets for the $20+$1.50 discount. I wouldn't wait though, as these tickets are regularly priced at $115, so they will go very fast. I hope that's clear.

It actually is a great idea. The people who are doubting this need to think about it a little more. By giving young people free tickets, they will probably go on happy. They will probably also be more likely to enjoy the show and spread the word. That seems like a good idea to me.

I think it's a very smart move to incorporate Facebook. Look at how many word of mouth events occur just because of a single page on facebook. We've seen "Free Jamba Juice Day", "Free Starbucks"...etc.

Cry-Baby doing Facebook Night for lower priced tickets can easily rake in a good amount of people and really get word of mouth out there.

My college received comps to a preview performance and most of the students have gone back 2-3 times since and payed for their tickets. And the buzz around school was highly positive.

In the audience I've talked to older couples who loved Cry-Baby more than they loved Hairspray and one older woman said she would love to see Cry-Baby again and again and sure enough, after the matinee she bought a ticket for the evening show.

Cry-Baby is slowly but surely finding it's audience, and that is a great sign!
