Cuomo Extends NY Pause Until April 29th

Cuomo just announced hes extended the pause until the end of the month, so Im guessing announcements about shows will have to be made at some point today.

In NC, it was announced we would be on lock down until Apr 29th about a week ago and we are nowhere close to being as bad as NY with people with virus and deaths. The schools have be shut down until May 15th and I really expect that in a few weeks they will extend the lock down to that date also.

I expected this when they added the extra weeks for the 50 person gathering limit a few weeks ago. I would expect that IF we hear anything about shows it may be after this 3 day span the Governor mentioned regarding the apex. He said things could go up or down.

I was also thinking about the other states. If NYC gives the green light will the surrounding states follow suite? They may not hit their apex at the same time and may still have stay in place orders. A lot of people in the theater community live outside of NYC. Just my random thoughts.

They have just announced that West End theaters in London will remain closed until June...

That's exactly what they are doing. We're on lockdown till end of April. Still no mention of postponement or cancellation of April 21 stop of Anastasia. They are not accepting incoming phone calls and no updates on their official site or facebook page. I don't want a refund if the show is going to be rescheduled. Saying nothing tells me they are keeping the money as long as they can get away with.

Shows are not just keeping our money. I think there is more to it. Normally shows hold money for a ticket until that show's date. They really can't do anything with it until after that point from what I understand. We have gotten refunds for the dates specified up until now. I am sure that as those dates past the original dates that were set pass, people will get their refunds. JMO

I agree. And people really need to get a grip. Until there performance date actually passes, they should stop worrying. Worth hundreds of thousand of refunds being processed, it will take time.

And let's be real, the League doesn't need to make any announcements. At this point no one should be under the impression that there will be performances any time soon.

My complaint is not that they aren't processing a refund fast enough. (I really don't want a refund if the show is going to be rescheduled) My complaint is there has been zero communication from the sponsor of our series. Our city government has stated that the performance will not happen due to lockdown. The sponsor knows it will not go on, so address it. Something like we are aware of the situation and are working on it. When our March, Hamilton stop was cancelled/postponed, they addressed a refund and other options BEFORE the performances start. For some performances it was more than two weeks before the actual start. Since they aren't following the same procedure and purposely remaining quiet, yes, I am suspicious about the money, since there is no Ticketmaster/Telecharge involvement.

Not sure what you mean by "sponsor". If it is a group sales thing, I know they are processing refunds. My friend is working from home doing refunds. I looked on one group sales site and there is a notice about refunds. Maybe instead of making a blanket type statement about shows keeping money, be a bit more specific about how you got your tickets. (Which you did after your initial comments). JMO

Sponsor was the wrong word. Our state college in Jacksonville is the presenter of our Broadway series. The college is FSCJ and they present the Broadway Series through the FSCJ Artist Series. I purchased my subscription through the FSCJ Artist Series. All monies and fees (which are as high as Ticketmaster) are collected by the Series (college). There is no other third party ticketing involvement. When I stated I agreed to HBBrock's post, I should have said in "my" situation, instead of "they". I can only speak to what is going on in my situation.
