Well I can always go back to the stage door another night...I just want to meet Sutton...I have seen her before but never had the chance to meet her. I'll see what happens. Thanks!
Gerideth, can you please post what they say about seating when you call? I won't be able to call until much later in the day.
Thanks!
K, just got off the phone. Basically the box office has a "section reserved" for the phone reservations, which will be assigned in the order they were taken. (They started at 10am on July 7th I believe) However, these seat assignments won't be known until the reservations are given to the box office at 9pm tonight. So you could go on Telecharge and pick your seat, but its mostly last couple of rows and sides right now, or take your risks with the reserve section. Personally, I did my reserve within the first two hours the lines were open, so I'm taking my chances with the reserve section.
I too am glad that they are doing the assigned seating thing. Although, in December I ended up in the front all the way to the right near the door. I'm sad I won't get there this time around though. Maybe next month.
And sorry for threadjacking.
TheGentleGiant88-If you don't waste time getting out of the Broadway Theatre, you might be able to meet Sutton Foster and have time to get to DQYNJ. When I saw it back in June, she was the first person out. She did sign, but very quickly. I have also heard though that she doesn't always come out either. Apparently, I must have gotten lucky.
I'm not going tonight, but I'm hearing conflicting info to what's been posted above: all seating tonight will yes in fact be general admission, and seat assignments will not be honored, regardless of what your ticket might say. (Who knows, maybe it will change again in the next few hours.)
Will be interested in hearing how this seating stuff all goes down tonight, from those of you who will be there.

If that ends up being the case, that's pretty crap. Add the fact that alcohol will be served, and I predict there will be some pissed off people there tonight.
To whomever is going, let us know what happens.
I just called and they said that there will be assigned seating for everyone (even if you placed your order over the phone)

Yes, it is assigned seating for tonight.
Thank you to Gerideth and everyone who posted information.I guess there is no need for phone reservation people to show up early.
I wish i could have gone tonight. Have fun all of you.
Casey and Erin Whyland will be performing too.
Tonight was fun. Not the best they've done but still fun. Nicole Parker was the best out of everyone playing both Carrie and Patti LuPone in different sketches. "PUT AWAY YOUR FVCKING CAMERA!!"
Constantine totally destroyed Musical Mad Libs and made it one of the most unfunny ones I've ever seen, but with words like "slimy", "banana" and other third grade words being shouted out he certainly had help from the audience in messing it up. Luckily I got a few "adult" ones in there which he still managed to rush through and ruin.
Oh, well. Can't win 'em all. I'm just glad DQYNJ is back! :)

Amen! so happy they're back, tonight was a good one to get back in the groove with. Where was Kudy though? Did he bow out last minute anyone know? He always does well with the sketches and was really looking forward to seeing him!
I am adding that the Showbiz Showdown between David Bologna and Will Swenson was the funniest moment of the night. Will's "Billy Elliot" interpretive dance (esp the chair), David's "hair" song (peace, love and drugs), and Will's "FALSE!" had me in tears from laughing.
Nicole Parker was amazing, esp in NY2.
I wish the "Don't Stop Believing" Madlibs had been performed a little better...
Overall a good, solid show. Glad it was back!
Yeah, the ticketing I thought was handled pretty poorly. A friend and I (separately) were some of the first phone reservations when the line opened, and we were in the back row, in the corner. Someone next to us also claimed that her seat was double sold, but then the seat remained empty at curtain... there were plenty of people just randomly standing the back aisles.
I miss the Zipper! While I am really REALLY glad the show is back, I hate the new location. Its narrow and long and not very raked, so most people have obstructed views, and on top of that the back three rows have huge pillars to deal with.
They sat me right behind one of those poles...freakin awful..
Other then constantly from one side to the other it was fun.

But where was Kudisch?! Anyone know?
Where are these poles? (Approx what row/seat(s)?)
I've been to the Julia Miles for NYMF shows but can't remember, want to be prepared for buying tix for next month...
The DQ people had nothing to do with the seating, that was all done from the theater and telecharge, hence why it was a bit disorganized (plus why it started so late).

The David Bologna and Will Swenson showdown sounds great. Did anyone take video?

Nevermind, I just found a seating chart that I think shows them- two poles in the row M center section, right? So one wants to sit in row L or forward in this theatre?

I was so upset at how ticketing was handled last night. I tried to reserve my ticket by phone to avoid the surcharge, and I encountered all kinds of difficulty when someone returned my initial call and left a message asking me to call back and give more info. When I did call (about half an hour after the message), they refused to actually put in a reservation for me because I'd "missed the cutoff" - which had never been mentioned anywhere. I finally called back AGAIN and explained AGAIN, and the girl decided she could do it after all.
However, if she had said one word about "onstage seating," I would've been off the phone and paying the Telecharge fee immediately - I'm a very shy person and HATE being in the spotlight, and having to sit onstage was torturous. Much as I love the show and thought last night's was great, sitting onstage made me so nervous that it nearly ruined the whole evening. I really hope they can straighten all of this out before the next show in August, because I'm not sure how many chances I'll give them.

Anyone have more info on the different sketches? I wasnted to go but it was just too late for me. Have to be at work by 8. I didn't expect anything to be on youtube yet, but thought maybe people could post detailed reviews. I know there were more actors supposed to be there that haven't been mentioned yet.
People who called in for tickets really got no choice of seats. I was behind the pole and had about a 3/4 view of the stage which was okay. But whoever was answering those phones needs to learn how to be nicer to people.
I thought the show was funny, but too long. Certain skits could have stopped earlier and been just as funny. The 3 new shows opening was a good example of that.
Also loved Will Swenson and young David. Best part was them trying to get at each other.
Don't Stop Believing did get some stupid mad libs, but Constantine Maroulis sang it so well and it was a good relief spot at that point of the show.
On the whole, a decent show.

There is a video of the showbiz showdown up, and more are always posted on youtube and the DQ website (http://www.dontquitnyc.com)

Whoa, wait, what- they're doing onstage seating at DQYNJ now? Like, legit seating you can order ahead of time, or was it moreso a they oversold the place and had to set up chairs somewhere and onstage was the only place to do it type situation?
