Anyone have any pictures of the DROWSY CHAPERONE marquee at the Marquis Theatre? Someone in the "worst show poster" thread said it was up, and I was just wondering how it looks.
and anyone have any thoughts on the marquee itself...?
thanks guys :)

Posted: 2/26/06 at 11:54amI was in Manhattan on Thursday, and they were putting it up as we were walking by. From what I remember, it was very bubbly and cute. Orange/yellow/red I think? I should have taken a picture, but I think it suits the goofiness of the show. I think it just said "The Drowsy Chaperone." No pictures and such.

I really have to search about this show. I know nothing about it!
All I know of is this adorable picture of Sutton from nytimes.com.

Posted: 2/26/06 at 12:07pmIt's kind of a dark red with yellow sketchy looking writing. I don't think it's ugly, but it's not necessarily eye-popping.

Posted: 2/26/06 at 12:11pmIt's the same title treatment that was used in L.A. The colors are different in NY: black lettering with yellow shadowing on a red background. It looks a little dour, though.

Posted: 2/26/06 at 12:11pmthey had some great art for their LA run...this seems kind of lackluster.

What a great pic! Ha! I adore Sutton! I love watching her strut her stuff!
You go, girlfriend. Bring your Foster brother home another Tony.

i really like the choice of colors- the red, yellow, and black give it a classic sort of look, and i dunno, i just love the lettering for the word "drowsy"
:)
i hope this show will do well...

Well...I'd dare say that David Merrick got there first...
re: DROWSY Marquee Pictures?#24
Posted: 2/27/06 at 10:38amThe art on the marquee doesn't pop in person on the street. Too bad, since that's one of the most visible marquees in the area.
