It's sweet and the music is pretty, but I thought it was too long for the material and all the songs sounded exactly alike. I thought there may have been other ways to tell the story that would've been more entertaining to me. I didn't hate it, but I'm glad I didn't miss something else to see it.
I loved something rotten. I thought it was hilarious, especially if you're a musical theater fan. The performances are great and I was glad to have seen the original cast.
These really are about as different as two shows could be. A two-hander that is romantic, sweet, and quiet, and a big showy romp with a huge ensemble and lots of dancing.
I am in complete agreement with this. DDL is an enjoyable, two person show, but I couln not distinguish one song from the next. Something Different is FUN in a way that TKAI or Color Purple are not. It is silly, laugh out loud funny, and you will leave with a smile on your face.
