exedore, I probably wouldn't worry about the exact Vienna script being the basis of a film etc. Yes, the Japanese album performs the Vienna script for some *strange* reason (the Warsaw one doesn't. It includes the Stuttgart / Hamburg revisions. As a matter of fact, it's probably the first time "Starker" has been recorded!)
Whatever the case, since it's a Polanski project, I don't think we can expect a screw-up.
Then again, "Pirates"

Posted: 2/2/07 at 11:56amThe Warsaw recording is fantastic. And yes, it does contain mostly all of the orchestration changes/cuts that were made to the show after the original cast.

I like the Warsaw and Tokyo recordings but nothing beats Steinman's masterpiece "Tanz Der Vampire" Vienna Original Cast Recording. THAT is an essential. The rest are take it or leave it, IMO

I saw it, and it was pretty bad. No sense of direction....a comedy one second, dramatic the next, etc...
Man VonEssen was very, very good...as he is in everything he does. But, even he couldn't rise about the material. He and Mandy had a soaring duet of "Braver Than We Are."
Then the finale was a rip off of the "Thriller" video........amazing, incredible dancing.......that just came out of no where.........didn't suit the show at all.
A bad, bad show.

I saw it and enjoyed myself. Granted, I didn't pay for my ticket so it's not as if I had anything invested in it. I was also 12 at the time, so the dirty jokes went over my head and it kept me pretty much entertained. I also had no idea that TANZ was in existence, so I wasn't comparing it to anything. And finally, I was never a fan of Michael Crawford (couldn't stand the PHANTOM cast recording, still can't) so the delight that overcame me when I saw that Rob Evan was going on for Crawford was enough to keep me content for the whole two hours and fourty five minutes.

I didn't know that we could edit our posts. Thanks for the info. That was so nice of you to keep your eye out for a fellow Broadwayworld.com board poster. Thanks so much!
