I just read that...mixed feelings about it. Guess I should just be glad the movie is being made at all.
I honestly won't believe it until I get to see at the theatre and watch it, for now, I won't get too excited or bitch too much about casting.
I wish they announced who will be playing Serragina and Stephanie Necrophorus...or perhaps the parts are getting cut.
Yay!
Nicloe Kidman...yuck.
yuck?

At least she can sing!
I don't think she's "yuck" but she isn't the siren that Penelope Cruz is, Cruz should have been signed on as Claudia.
I don't like her, what's she playing?
She's playing Claudia Nardi.
Apart from Daniel, everyone else is just a casting rumour..
. "Variety recently confirmed recent casting rumors noting that Penelope Cruz, Marion Cotillard, Sophia Loren, Nicole Kidman and Judi Dench are attached to the film as well."
"I DRINK YOUR CHIANTI!"
*sigh* Yeah, not thrilled with the casting... will wait to decide if I'm seeing it until I see some production stills or such.
"If we don't live happily ever after at least we survive until the end of the week!" -Kermit the frog "I need the money... it costs a lot to look this cheap!" -Dolly P. "Oh please, Over at 'Gypsy' Patti LuPone hasn't even alienated her first daughter yet!" Mary Testa in "Xanadu" "...Like a drunk Chita Rivera!" Robin de Jesus in "In the Heights"
"B*tch, I don't know your life." -Xanadu After that if he still doesn't understand why you were uncomfortable and are now infuriated, kick him again but this time with Jazz Hands!!! -KillerTofuWhat I got from that was that Variety confirmed the rumors as true. Though I may be wrong.

Well, I will decide now. I'm seeing it.
Claudia???
Double yuck, she ain't got the chops for that.
Ray...you are right Variety confirmed those rumours...
From Todays Variety
"Marshall, who built his career at ICM, leaves as he is preparing to direct "Nine" for the Weinstein Co. Daniel Day-Lewis will star with Penelope Cruz, Marion Cotillard, Sophia Loren, Nicole Kidman and Judi Dench in the musical, inspired by the Fellini film "8½," which is scheduled to shoot this fall."
When in doubt, trust Daniel. He is notoriously picky about the films he wants to participate in, and wouldn't do it unless he felt he was up to it.
Now, whether the material is up to Daniel's standards... well, we'll see.

This better be a damn good movie.
Interesting choice....can't wait to see how it will turn out
Um...like I said:
Guido-John Stamos
Carla-Keira Knightly
Claudia-Emily Blunt
Lilliane-Liza Minelli
Luisa-Marion Cotillard
Sigh. In all honesty I am not too sure how I feel about this. I mean I will DEFINITELY see it, but I am worried about how well it will turn out.
Does anyone know how Daniel is as a singer?
I think I'm just going to have to wait it out and see... I'll definitely be seeing this, but I don't see how they're going to sell this to a mainstreamed audience... I guess they're relying on star name. I really hope it turns out as well as we all hope!
Too bad we have to wait a whole year and half to see it!

This has just shot up SEVERAL notches on my "To-See" list. I have never seen the musical Nine, but a musical remake of 8 1/2 starring Daniel Plainview has got to be worth checking out.
This is not a remake of 8 1/2.
A lot of people are thinking this is a remake of 8 1/2 with music. But it's quite different. This is a movie of the musical Nine which was based on 8 1/2.
