LOL
All I can hope for at this point is that "Smash" will be better.

Posted: 6/2/11 at 2:54pmI don't get what everyone has against Glee. I like it so I'm a bit biased, but most teenagers (including myself) can't afford to go see theatre all the time, so I don't see the problem with them getting into musicals through Glee or Movie musicals. I'm lucky if i see a few shows a year, but I can go watch TV whenever I want.

Posted: 6/2/11 at 4:13pmWhat angers me the most about Glee is that my friends who don't know about theatre, but are obsessed with Glee, hear these revered Broadway songs and then when I make them listen to the original cast recordings, all they say is that Glee is the better of the 2 (or 5: see GYPSY.)

I don't think its horrible IF the show brings a new and bigger audience to live theater. But I doubt it will.
As much as I hated High School Musical, I saw a huge bump in numbers as to how many kids were particpating in my theater program -- this? No change whatsoever.
What I DO dislike is show itself -- the stereotypes, the backbiting, the nastiness, the lack of anyone taking the high road, the acting, the autotune, the tired plots.....

Posted: 6/2/11 at 6:22pmI don't really see how Glee has had an impact on broadway at all. Besides butchering broadway tunes, I don't see any direct impact.

This drives me up the wall - not only for Broadway songs, but for any of the other songs that are covered on Glee. Some of my students are Glee fanatics and anytime someone mentions the origial version of some song that was covered by Glee, there's a chorus of " [insert actor on Glee] sang it WAY BETTER than [insert original artist/singer]" or "Glee makes EVERY song better!".
It drives me bonkers.

Okay, so mostly the originals are way better, which is to be expected - a notable exception though is Sam's rendition of Baby...much more swoonsome than the Biebs! Also, I think a lot of the Glee stuff sounds better on CD, away from the actual show.
Btw, there is no actual reason to think Daniel Radcliffe will be on Glee, right?

Well a few weeks back there was a rumor that he was going to be on the season finale episode. And he was... as a billboard.
But a quick google search found me an interview from a year ago he did with access hollywood where he said that he would consider guest starring if they asked him.
Access Hollywood

Someone even went so far as to say "glee was made for theatre fans like you!" *head to desk*
