She was probably in her dressing room chatting while her hair was getting styled and said something like, "I'm, like, soooo bored. I should do Broadway. What role should I play? Ummmm......the Funny Girl part whatsername did? No......I'm, like, way too pretty. Ummmmmmm........Aida? No....she's, like, an alto or something. Ummmmm.......Natalie Wood in West Side Story? No.....Christina would probably, like, be cast as Chita and we hate her. What is WITH those eyebrows? Anyway, ok, ummmm........What about, like, that foreigner who can't talk right? Remember that show? With whatsername....you know......and that guy was really mean to her all the time so, like, she married him? You know! Yes you do! Yuh-huh! My Fair Lady! Right! I should sooooo do that. That would be, like, soooo awesome! What else should I do?"

I think its going to come to blows between MisterMatt and VoiceAnth. Just give me enough time to organize a BC/EFA boxing match before you go at it, or maybe you could do it proffesional wrestling style.
I'll let VoiceAnth and Mister Matt choose. Now just to find someplace to have the match. Hmmm...

I think I'm going to be sick. I absolutely hope to god that Britney will not be in this show because...well, you know the whole NO TALENT thing. Put her in dance chorus, thats about all shes capable of. Unless they pre-record the entire thing and she can do what she does best and lipsync. Broadway will be a sheer disappointment if this happens my friends.
This hurts my brain too much to think about this, Im going to go lay down.

It's being "said" that Britney would like the show to be more "dance driven" this time around..
I think that could be very interesting...!!!
The sad thing is, it might be a joke even though it was posted on ananova.com....which makes me sad because I would LOVE to read how Britney's "Fair Lady" has the biggest advance sales in theatre history..because it would!
That fact alone would make a number of people on this board have the runs!
..and that's a good thing!

The suffering denizens of this and other theater message boards would inflict on themselves in the name of 'the integrity of Broadway' would be far more entertaining and satisfying to watch than anything Britney could do on the stage.
It would make my it worth my hundred bucks too.

If this happens I'll eat my shoe. Every time Britney poots a fart it's reported on far and wide. She was apparently a shoo-in for the next Bond girl, but Pierce Brosnan has publicly said that that is not going to happen.
The idea does hilariously bring to mind Christopher Guest at the end of Waiting For Guffman "ello ow are oo?"

I don't know what to say about this, but...
I always thought that she'd make a great Gladys Hotchkiss in "PJ Game".

If she did the show, I would not get the runs. I just wouldn't buy a ticket. High ticket sales doesn't mean she's good. It just means she's popular. Casting a popular teen idol in a show doesn't make the show itself good. It just gets a lot of butts in seats who care more about who they're seeing than what they're seeing. Coca-Cola is popular, but it wouldn't taste good in vicysoisse.
However, I would like to see all the teenagers screaming for their money back when they realize the performance doesn't include "Baby One More Time" or "Oops I Did it Again".
Or should that be....."Baby What's My Line?" and "Oops I'm Acting Again"

Hmmm....so would she actually sing? Or just continue lip syncing and calling it performing.
If they make her *sing* live, then she's in for a rude awakening considering she's not accustomed to it. Actually, WE are in for a rude awakening.
Hoping it's a joke. Hoping it's a joke. Hoping it's a joke. Hoping it's a joke. Hoping it's a joke. Hoping it's a joke.

My boyfriend and I were laughing about this last night, and then I said,'What the f*ck would happen if she did do this and turned out to be BRILLIANT, with a heretofore unknown soaring soprano and a depth of feeling on par with Meryl Streep.'
Now THAT would be hilarious.

Posted: 3/25/04 at 12:10pmI think she shoud just play Ruth in RAISIN IN THE SUN and be done with it. That way Audra could do Eliza in the FAIR LADY revival and everyone will be happy!
