Everyone on BWW should watch the stories...I hope he brings the show to Broadway. David should have his Broadway debut. The entire cast seem full of talent and positive vibes and thrilled to be in the show."
The takeover was great. David is adorable. It was very similar content to the most recent insta lives he’s been doing since the show opened but more day in the life.
Thanks for directing me to that, it is still all.up & I just watched it this morning. It is a bit of a bummer that Archuleta won't be with the show through its entire run, but I'm sure the other actor will be fine.
I only changed my plans in June for the days I already had booked off work in October. I had been planning to go to San Francisco & Yosemite but will instead try to do that next spring.
To be honest, the parts of his videos that got me most excited were the brief scenes of the drive to Tuacahn and seeing the mountain scenery in that part of Utah. I will be doing 5 days of driving through Southern Utah, & spending a couple nights at Bryce Canyon National Park bookended by two weekends in Las Vegas. I am always blown away by the desert scenery. Also the dry weather is such a nice change from all the rain we get through the fall & winter in the Pacific Northwest.
I just have to get through 5 more weeks of work. Classes start back next week, and this will be the first semester since the pandemic that the college I work at has scheduled full classes back in actual classrooms, so it will be 5 crazy weeks. I have only been back 4 weeks from my NYC trip, but it already feels like a distant memory.

The recent Lincoln Center one-night-only production did the same thing, and there was no apparent blowback. (Also, Merle Dandridge sang the hell out of it in a simply divine sparkly gold leotard.)
If it's really bothering you, you can ask him on Twitter -- he's usually surprisingly accessible. (A few years back, I got him to switch the lyrics to "Someone Else's Story" in the London Coliseum production of Chess based on which character was singing it, just by getting in touch by that means.)
I saw this a couple of weeks ago. The Tina Turner bothered me, but only because I think the Elvis part is brilliant. The girl who played Tina was really good. Before the song started she said, “That’s right, Pharaoh is a she”. Oh and during the “what does it mean” part she said “tell me what, what, what, what’s love got to do with it, and what does it mean.”
The theater itself is so beautiful. I was quite impressed with the cast. David was cute. Sang the songs very well.
He was dressed in street clothes at the beginning, and then street clothes again at the end. Tell me, what does that mean?
Went to Joseph at Tuacahn tonight. I've only ever seem one small production of this show before. I doubt I will ever again see a production as over the top as this one featuring fireworks, ariel silks, cast members ziplining over the audience, a full stretch limo on stage alongside a live camel, and live Draft horses pulling a golden chariot. I couldn't help thinking that this might have been what is what like to see some of the spectacular put on at the Hippodrome at the start of the 20th Century. David Archuleta left the show in September. His replacement, Josh Strickland, reminded me somewhat of Cheyenne Jackson. Here's how the Pharaoh number was done tonight. So initially, the actress playing Pharaoh in this production (Jalynn Steele) is dressed like Elvis in a blue jumpsuit with a big rockabilly style wig. She's at the top of a staircase on a pyramid & turns to the audience & says "Dude looks like a lady!" Then she goes into "Song of the King" and performs it as it traditionally is done, as Elvis. Then Joseph says something like, "Hmm I don't quite understand...could you repeat that?" Pharaoh says, " Do you want me to break it down for you? Let me break it down for you!" Then she strips off the jumpsuit & pulls off the big Elvis wig. Underneath she is dressed like Tina Turner, and the reprises "Song of the King" with dance moves reminiscent of how Tina would perform "Rolling Down the River," with the chorus girls all also now in miniskirts like Tina wore. It was quite an extravagant performance, and I'm glad I had the opportunity to see it. I bought early enough that I had a good seat, pretty low down in the amphitheater with a fairly close view for only $75. Sat beside a nice elderly lady who wanted to chat. She said this time of year is actually the best time to see a show there since it is not as unbearably hot as mid-summer - it is an open air theatre. It is 11pm as I write this & has cooled down to about 75°. I brought a jacket, but didn't use it. In mid-summer they have misters that spray out over the audience. St. George is somewhere a lot if people retire to, so I'd say the lady next to me at about 75 was the average age of tonight's audience. She called me a youngster when I said I'm almost 50! I'm halfway through my trip, & spent a lot of time so far in some of the National Parks here in Utah. It is unbelievably beautiful. If you've never been, I highly recommend it.
