I wish they could find a way to take this production on tour.
It's so special, and I wish more people had the opportunity to witness it.
All this over an extension? Who cares?
It's two goddamn weeks, not six months.
I see this musical is bringing out the crazies again.

Meh, I don't care-- but I don't think it was wise to announce at this point. I don't see what the strategy is here, as its undoubtedly a strategy game. The show is not selling well enough to merit an extension for that specific reason; this is more consistent with a strategy buzz extension to generate press and interest-- but why now? Shouldn't it have been after opening? Using the reviews to "extend" for demand purposes (to the public) and thus sell more tickets? If anything, at this point I think this hurts their sales, because it just gives their same intended audience more opportunities to see the show they would have seen anyway. I want this show to succeed. I'm a sucker for the narrative of how it all came to be, so I think it rightfully has some industry goodwill. But these talented artists deserve the wisdom of better producing than they are getting, I feel. And of course, I may be wrong. Maybe this is smarter than I think it is. I wish them well. Really.
