Dear Bill sounds like?

Sorry everyone I know I am very late to the operation mincemeat party. I have not been keeping up as well as I normally do on Broadway musicals. I just recently heard the song, dear Bill for the first time (I think) when I was getting an MRI. Since I was getting an MRI done, I could not hear most of the lyrics, but I felt like it was a song I knew from the melody.  I caught enough of the lyrics to be able to Google it afterwards and I was surprised that it was from operation mincemeat. The only song I had heard from the show was the sailing song. I have been racking my brain to try to figure out what other song it reminds me of.  Does anyone have any ideas of a similar song melodically or with a similar instrumental arrangement? I apologize if this is already been talked about or if I am posting in the wrong spot. I did do a search, but didn’t find anything.

The search function often is pretty weak.  Here is the reviews thread which probably addresses your question somewhere in it if I recall correctly.

It's funny you should say that, since "Sail On, Boys" from Operation Mincemeat sounds very, very much like "The Stars Look Down" from Billy Elliot. (I suspect in that case that they may both make a nod to a traditional song that I'm not aware of.)
