I saw DEH on Wednesday evening, August 30, and Ben was out. Usher just said he's decided to take some time off No explanation. We came all the way from Georgia just to see Ben. Rachel Ray Jones was off also.
I apologize if this has been asked already...
Does anyone know if Ben will be out of the evening performance for Wednesday, September, 20th? I stopped at the box office in July to see if he was scheduled off due to Rosh Hashanah, and they had no scheduled absence at that time.

I also got my refund for a Saturday matinee in September after emailing Telecharge, due to "Ben Platt Out."

I believe theaters have until 30-minutes before curtain to announce a cast change.

Ben was out on doctor-imposed vocal rest for about a week and a half through August 30th. It was posted on the official DEH website and also discussed all over these boards, so that's why he wasn't in when you saw it on the 30th. He was back in the show on the 31st. It's bad luck for you, but it's nothing the theater hadn't already announced/explained.

telecharge is advising that Michael Lee Brown is performing the role for evening (i.e. October 31st) and Sunday shows including the November weekend that was supposed to be the last weekend for Ben Platt. (not just the matinees we already knew he was covering)
Is this some kind of mistake? (the general information about who is performing the role and when remains unchanged, but when you go to actually buy tickets, this is when the notification comes up.)
Anyone know what is going on? glitch at telecharge, or something actually changed?

*Rjnyyz: Can you send a screen shot or something of that? I don't see it or know how to get to it. Thanks!

I called Telecharge today to ask whether Ben Platt is scheduled to be out for the 8pm performance on Sept 20 (Rosh Hashanah). They said he is scheduled to perform.
I don't know whether to believe them! I guess I'll stop by the box office to confirm.
This will be my fourth time trying to see him (I exchanged my tickets the other three times). I don't begrudge him his need for vocal rest and other time off, but I'm beginning to think this is an impossible dream!
Refunds were received with no issue once the email was sent.

He's scheduled to be. Of course, sickness can come out of nowhere.

I think sickness has to come from somewhere, no?

went last night and he indeed was there. Amazing performance, no regrets at all having to pay premium prices now. Truly amazing, I enjoyed it so much.

My daughter and I are going tonight, for my birthday.
I'm crossing fingers that I'll be able to watch the whole original cast perform (especially considering the crazy amount of $ last minute tickets cost)... ??

happy birthday to you
Hope you enjoy the show tonight. My family enjoyed it so much last night and we got to see the whole cast, so hopefully you will as well.
Apparently Colton is on as Connor at the matinee. Believe it's his first performance in the role. I'm sure he's great.

As Evan, yes, not as Connor.

Oh, got it. He may actually be a better fit as Connor. Wonder if he'll wear a wig?
I was thinking the same thing ijest. It seems like a better fit for him. I don't think he'll wear a wig. Mike has made it sound like it was more of a character choice, though I'm sure it'll be copied in future castings.

They change the hair length line to, "New coat, Connor? Very school shooter chic," when Mike is out.
