MUCH more likely."
^THIS. I'm jewish and I never take off for Rosh Hashana, but Yom Kippur I will because of the fact I have to fast all day. I can't imagine doing the show on an empty stomach.

If anyone was wondering, everyone but Michael Park was on tonight. Asa was not there, so the vacation swing was on for Larry Murphy. My understudy slip fell out of my playbill and I couldn't find it, does anyone know the name of the vacation swing?

Currently, besides Wednesday and Saturday matinees, Ben has no scheduled absences for the remainder of his run. People continue to speculate about Yom Kippur, which starts at sundown today, based on an interview that Ben gave months ago stating that he has it off, per his contract. Since that interview, however, Ben's attendance record and schedule have changed drastically, and there's no other evidence to suggest that he'll be out either today or tomorrow.
Here’s a tweet from 2013 that shows Ben isn't above working on Yom Kippur:
Ben is off today and Colton will be on, it’s his first performance since they made MLB first cover.

Has anybody seen Colton Ryan’s latest Instagram post? I feel like the caption hints last night was his final night in the show. Does anybody know?

Must have disappointed many fsns who thought he would be there.Hopehe wasn't sick!"
According to the box office he was sick, he called out kind of close to curtains going up because I saw Colton going into the stagedoor before the show and he had friends waiting for him after the show and they said he wasn't originally supposed to go on today and he got the call kind of late. Everyone I was sitting around last night was super supportive of an understudy going on which I was thrilled about.
I am going to see the show Thursday October 12, and I’ve seen that the holiday Shmini Atzeret is on the day. Sorry if I sound dumb, but is that a common day for him to take off? I’m assuming it already would have been announced if he wasn’t going to be there.

I wouldn't worry! Shmini Atzeret is an incredibly insignificant holiday, and the guy didn't take off Yom Kippur, which is the most important day of the year in the Jewish religion. I hope you enjoy the show!
People on instagram are claiming that Colton has confirmed that last night was his final performance, but I can't find that confirmation anywhere. Anyone else have any news?

Thank you! That’s what I was assuming but was looking to see what other people thought. I’m so excited!!
Posted in the other thread, but Rachel was there tonight, so maybe she will be in for the week. Also wanted to talk about Colton as Connor, as someone had said they change the school shooter line to talking about his jacket, but it's actually (at least now) about his nails, which makes much more sense. Colton was good in the role.

Last I read, the cruise is November 3-13. So maybe she will be in couple more days.
I noticed the same change of the line to “nice manicure” when I saw Colton as Connor in late September. I thought he was great in the role too.

They still say the part about the school shooter. When Mike is in, they say something like "Love the new hair length, very school shooter chic." Colton doesn't have long hair, so they change it to "Love the manicure, very school shooter chic."

I wonder if the Jared's just got go to adlib it for short haired Connors? The jacket line was the original line, changed to the hair length line when Mike grew out his hair, but this Manicure line is new. Unless the jacket line wasn't working as well as the hair length one and they're just trying new stuff. I wonder if future full-time Connors will be told to grow their hair out like Mike did.

That is really interesting! I have only seen the show more recently, so I love hearing how things like that have changed over the course of the run.
- Rachel was out on 11/3, her replacement was great. She really nailed it. I missed her clearly unmistakable tone in parts (that you all know) but the acting was nailed and "Good For You" smoked.
- The rest of the cast is pushing their characters harder now w/o fear of overdoing it. Awesome. - Ben rocked of course on 11/3..... PLEASE DO NOT think for a second that his performance lacked, it DID NOT, it was 1000%. Really, there was nothing different in that. You wouldn't notice unless you've seen the show multiple times.
BUT these last weeks appear to have an emotional and physical impact on him, as opposed to when I saw the show in June. But we all know what he puts into the show and he's a superman.... but he's human.
I just felt / saw a very subtle aura that the inexplicable hard work is difficult. PLUS, These last few weeks increase the notion that he's going to miss the DEH family and also starting a WONDERFUL, but unknown new chapter in his life. We're all excited and he is too, but I could tell a difference as these are the last few weeks.
We've all had this in our lives. Nothing is constant except change.
Ben, if you're reading this. God bless you and your sheer insanity towards perseverance. You've not raised the bar for what hard work looks like, you've placed it in another dimension.
We're excited for your record with Atlantic!!! (Don't beat your Fansens up if we beg for a DEH song for your encore when you're on tour. See Ya Then!)
