I am sorry if this is covered some place else on the boards, but I couldn't find it. Can anyone tell me how the cancellation line at DEAR EVAN HANSEN is for weekdays this week (Wednesday 2pm & 8pm, or Thursday evening)? I know SRO lines up very early, but I am trying to splurge on a $199 (or whatever it is) seat. Any info would be fantastic.
Thank you in advance!

There are $203 tickets on Telecharge for Wednesday evening right now. You should save yourself the trouble and just grab one of those!

I appreciate that, but they are at really far ends of the theatre and I just don't want to miss anything. Happy to take my chance at the box office, just didn't know what time to get there. I do appreciate your help. I will be checking hourly! ![]()

Ah - makes sense! I'm spending a week in NYC in a few weeks so I'm trying to wrap my head around a ticket strategy myself :)
Good luck!!!

It really depends on who is in the SRO line. I heard for 2-show days some people in SRO simply stay in line for the cancellation line for the matinee. Not sure about evening performances.

I haven't managed to get an answer to this same question. Someone must have done what I would like to try - if it's possible without standing in line for hours and hours.
My goal is to get three cancellation line tickets, (two together and the third can be anywhere) for the Wednesday night show (April 12).
What I'm not grasping is the procedure. I understand the SRO people who show up at 5 or 6 a.m. or earlier. (That's not happening for me.) I understand that cancellation tickets for the matinee go on sale after SRO tickets are sold. But what about the Wednesday night show? I gather that they are not sold until after the matinee starts. But wouldn't there be a big long line with SRO hopefuls and cancellation wannabees filled with people who have been waiting since the early morning? I don't want to spend my whole day outside the Music Box Theatre, with no guarantees, when there are other show options and a whole city to explore in the warm sunlight.
If anyone can explain this to me like I'm a bit slow, I would appreciate it.

I wouldn't be too picky for this show. It's not easy to get a ticket to begin with so if you have an opportunity to buy an orchestra ticket at face value then I would go for it. You might not end up getting one at all if you're too picky.

Just a reminder that next wee is a big school vacation week in NYC so you can expect rush and cancellation lines to be that much more difficult. You may want to show up even earlier For April 12.

Who are these children who have $200 to spend on a theater ticket? Is it too late to get their parents to adopt me?
My first trip to NYC I saw COMPANY, FOLLIES, APPLAUSE, 1776 and THE FANTASTICKS. Total cost (including air fare from S. Fla. and hotel): $175.

Do children go to theater alone? They are obviously accompanied by someone who can afford their tickets.

Someone on the other Dear Evan Hansen Cancellation thread posting that they've been putting up tickets about four days before the show. The best bet looks like to keep checking Telecharge, but don't be picky with your seats. If they're orchestra or great mezzanine seats at face value then take them!
