I have room for five shows on an upcoming trip in June. I'm a definite musical freak, so while I know there are incredible plays I should be seeing, it's just not in the cards this time around.

So far, I've narrowed it down to Next to Normal, A Little Night Music, and La Cage. The other two? Not sure. I'm torn between:

West Side Story
Billy Elliot
The Addams Family
In the Heights

Help!

I haven't seen HEIGHTS with the new cast but it's a very good show. BILLY is brilliant.

I would definitely say BILLY and maybe HEIGHTS or WEST SIDE, which apparently is 1,000 times better now thanks to cast changes.

Of those choices I suggest The Addams Family.

Hmmm...well, it looks like I could rule out Addams Family, although it might be worth it to see Nathan and Bebe live.

Billy and In the Heights might be my vote as well.

Not sure where you're traveling from, but my advice would be to see something that you can't usually see at home.
West Side Story is good, BUT it's not gong to be a unique, earth-shattering experience to see this version, and you've probably seen decent versions somewhere before (plus it will be touring soon)... As much as I didn't think Addams Family lived up to its potential, seeing Addams Family with this cast and/or Billy while it's still relatively fresh would be more of a "glad you saw it on Broadway" experiences for the scale and level of the productions....(same thing goes for Heights, too, just not as much so)

Add MEMPHIS to the mix. You will be very pleasantly surprised. Its wonderful. Loved Billy Elliot and Addams Family too... Addams Family is a lot of fun huge production values. Memphis has so much heart and is beautifully performed. I also recently saw Promise Promises and did not like it at all... Enjoy what you see. They all sound good. Just add Memphis to the list of possibilities!
