Walter Kerr theatre balcony seats
 May 18 2010, 01:03:15 PM
I know the theatre is small, but are balcony seats worth the good price tag?
Does Lion King offer any discounts? Am I missing them?
 May 18 2010, 12:39:20 PM
I know Lion King won't be at TKTS, but I'm trying to book my dad a ticket for June and would like to not pay $167. :) Any ideas? Are there discounts I'm missing? Didn't find any on broadway box or theatre mania.
Decisions, decisions...what to see?
 Apr 30 2010, 11:56:36 AM
Hmmm...well, it looks like I could rule out Addams Family, although it might be worth it to see Nathan and Bebe live.

Billy and In the Heights might be my vote as well.

Decisions, decisions...what to see?

I have room for five shows on an upcoming trip in June. I'm a definite musical freak, so while I know there are incredible plays I should be seeing, it's just not in the cards this time around.

So far, I've narrowed it down to Next to Normal, A Little Night Music, and La Cage. The other two? Not sure. I'm torn between:

West Side Story
Billy Elliot
The Addams Family
In the Heights

Help!

In town June 2-5 - any special events I should know about?

Ahhh...good idea. The question is, can I get Time Out in Omaha, Nebraska? ; )

My dad and I will be in the city from June 2-5th. While we're going to cram in as many shows as we can, I wondered if there's anything else performance or event-wise that we should be aware of and try to get to?
Back in Business Sheet Music -- Putting It Together
 Aug 19 2008, 11:44:31 AM
Help! I'm in a bind. Where might I find the arrangement for "Back in Business"? I'm specifically looking for the uptempo version from "Putting it Together". I'm pretty sure I would give my left arm if I had to in order to find it!

I know! I'm seriously in lust with it!
Need Misery and Happiness sheet music -- from Julia Murney's cd
 Apr 9 2008, 11:26:02 AM
I've been trying to get in touch with Susan Werner, the singer/songwriter who composed "Misery and Happiness" to find out where I could find the sheet music, but to no avail. Would anyone have any more leads on where to look? Or, is there a way to get the question to Julia to see if she would know anything?
re: Auditions for Company -- suggestions?
 Nov 26 2007, 03:51:07 PM
Actually, I was surprised when I wasn't aware of the song. I'm usually the dork who can rattle off the obscure ones. I will have to look it up.

It's not that I wouldn't consider singing it. I'm just looking for a multitude of suggestions.

I don't think I'm familiar with that one...is there another similar piece you can think of?
Auditions for Company -- suggestions?
 Nov 26 2007, 01:51:36 PM
I have auditions for Company in 2 weeks. Best case scenario, I'd like to be Amy, with Marta a close second. Definitely an alto/belter. Any great suggestions?

Oh, and of the other wives, which would be fun to play? I saw the show about 5 years ago and the details are a bit fuzzy.

Production Number Ideas needed!
 May 16 2007, 12:53:05 PM
I'm looking to round out a show choir set next year with a great big dancy closing number. They're not tappers, so 42nd St/We're in the Money wouldn't really work. And, it wouldn't have to be from a musical if there were other options -- a great classic tune would be awesome as well. Thoughts?
Julia Murney album sheet music?
 Mar 22 2007, 02:17:06 PM
Does anyone know if any of the recordings off of "I'm Not Waiting" are available in sheet music? Specifically "Misery and Happiness" or "Perfect". I'm in lust with both of them.

Good idea --any others?
Novelty female songs?
 Mar 2 2007, 01:54:48 PM
A show choir I work with is looking for a novelty piece for next year's show. This year they did an arrangement of "Always a Bridesmaid" (complete with the ugly dresses!). Last year was "Popular", the year before that was "Tackle That Temptation with a Time Step".

Any ideas?

Alto/tenor duet ideas?
 Jan 3 2007, 01:14:02 PM
I'm looking for a tenor/alto/belter duet for two high school students. Comedic or dramatic, off the beaten path would be great. Fire away!
Auditioning for Urinetown -- any suggestions
 Nov 6 2006, 03:10:46 PM
I have Urinetown auditions in about a month and would like to gear my audition song for Penny -- any suggestions? Definitely a belter, high isn't a problem.
re: Discount tickets for Chicago Spelling Bee or Wicked?
 Nov 1 2006, 05:15:04 PM
K, you guys are gonna have to help me out. Being from Nebraska and rarely seeing shows outside of Omaha, I've never tried to win/enter one of the lotteries. If I would want to see Wicked on Wednesday and Bee on Thursday, how would I go about doing that?
Discount tickets for Chicago Spelling Bee or Wicked?
 Nov 1 2006, 04:17:15 PM
I'm going to be in Chicago in December and would like to catch Spelling Bee and Wicked, but have always bought my tickets through ticketmaster. Do either of these shows have lotteries or other discounts I should know about?
