If you are unable to enjoy the success of other artists, don't comment on this post because it brings it to the top of the discussion board. I for one not only enjoy seeing new talent emerge but cheer it. The world needs new talent.

The only reason I can see a comparison to Carol Burnett is because she looks a lot like her and some of her mannerisms are the same.

If she were impersonating Carol, I would say she's great. But being the "next" Carol Burnett and being "exactly like" Carol Burnett are two different things.

Also, I agree with those who have said we don't live in an era that nurtures a Carol Burnett -type talent anymore. Sad, but true. Tracy Ullman was the last to give it a good shot on TV. And that's a long time ago.

But if there's a biopic or a stage production or a Vegas revue on Carol's life in the works, Amanda should be considered for the part.

I'd like to respond to your comment, a very good one. Amanda could very easily imitate a Burnett interpretation of a character, if asked to do so, and if it was called for in the writing. Amanda is hugely talented and if she did the impression, it would add an element of farce to the material, and you'd think you were watching the real Carol. Amanda would be great in a story about Carol Burnett, playing Carol. But then she'd be doing an impreesion, and copying someone else. Amanda is a talented comedy actor and it would not be to her benefit to copy or imitate anyone else's style.
