Was there last night and can confirm an officer came at intermission to escort out a couple. Wasn't close enough to hear what occurred, but I'm assuming the poster's report is accurate.

To be honest it was your odd capitalization (theater, police officer) and line breaks that were the first red flag. As I said, it looked like it was copied and pasted from elsewhere, and when I searched for that elsewhere, it wasn't to be found.
I feel like something like this WOULD be tweeted -- maybe given the demographics, not like a Spider-Man incident, but still.

It didn't cause much of a scene and the arguing wasn't loud enough for me to hear anything at all from across the orchestra. Barely any audience members even noticed or turned that way when the officer arrived and he left with the couple in literally a minute. So it wasn't really an incident that would create much of a reaction.

The arrest was made because hateful language was involved, in addition to the disruptive behavior.

I was sitting at the very back of the orchestra, and did indeed see the police go down the left side aisle during the intermission and eventually leave with someone from the audience. Wasn't close enough to hear anything, and I'm sure most in the theater did not even notice. No fuss, no loud noise ..... very low key incident from my vantage point.

We would be that audience . We already saw a production years ago and saw no burning need to see it again. We are not on Twitter and my wife is on Facebook.

It's not a criminal offense.
I'm getting the sense the cop told you an arrest was going to be made to get you to shut the hell up and not complicate matters further.

Well I was there last night sitting in the orchestra section and this certainly did not happen. It was the 8 o'clock show and they started about 11 minutes late. I have a picture of my ticket if anyone needs to see it. Unless it happened in the balcony or during intermission... It did not happen. Not even sure why someone would post this. Again if it was done during the intermission I was in the lobby, But I certainly would have heard people chatting and fighting if they caused such a big disturbance. If not. Kudos to the ushers because nothing happened during the show and they just called the cops. I don't think it happened.

Based on the description of the event, it doesn't sound like something for which one would be arrested. Being escorted out, yes. If the policeperson said this, then so be it, but that doesn't mean it would actually happen; perhaps it was said to appease the "victim" and/or to make escorting out go more smoothly.
