Very excited about this!  I've seen Derek Hough perform on the MOVE Tour the last two years - and he is amazing to see live!

He performed two scenes from the show at the Weinstein Oscar party last night. I only saw a short clip, but his singing sounded pretty good to me. I have no clue about his acting but his dancing is obviously good as well. Hopefully the performances will be released in full later on. I also read somewhere that he's done with being a pro on Dancing with the Stars so that basically gives him a year to improve on his performance/prepare for the show if it opens in January next year.

I like this - dynamite.  Jury is still out for me on Cosmo but would love to see Mara Davi as Kathy and Annaleigh Ashford as Lina.

Hough will be wonderful! He's an amazing dancer and has charm to spare. Plus, lets not forget that terrible revival Twyla Tharp put her hands on so many moons ago.

Julianne Hough would have been a possible choice for Kathy based on her Grease performance but obviously with her brother there, just NO.

As others have said, he's played leads in musical theater elsewhere, most notably Footloose in the UK - so he's pretty good all around.  He sang on the MOVE tour and I thought his voice was wonderful - beautiful tone and very expressive.  Of course, his dancing is out of this world - I can't imagine anyone on the planet doing a better job with the Gene Kelly role.

I missed this during the original announcement, but apparently Daniel Crossley has been cast has Cosmo Brown and Jennie Dale as Dora Bailey. Both appeared in the Theatre du Chatelet production. Crossley also played Cosmo in the West End revival in 2012.

Dora Bailey is the celebrity reporter at the beginning of the movie (played by "Batman"'s own "Aunt Harriet" Madge Blake). She's sort of like Louella Parsons or Hedda Hopper, broadcasting live during the premiere of the latest Lamont-Lockwood silent film at the Chinese Theatre.

I believe in this production, Dora will also be the diction coach for "Moses Supposes" instead of having two characters in such small parts.
