I've never found DiCaprio quite as attractive as others seem to have, but he's such a talented actor. I could see him translating well to stage.

Daniel Craig, on the other hand? Be still my heart! Interesting that he and Kidman are looking to do something together... I guess that means they enjoyed working together on The Golden Compass (which I'm so excited to see).

I realize he's not everyone's cup of tea, but it's hard to deny the man has talent. He's nuanced, skilled, and charismatic. I think the transition would be smoother then say Julia Roberts.

I for one would love to see this come to fruition.

This sounds absolutely incredible. Can't wait.

Am I the only one who is more excited about the play itself coming back to broadway regardless of who is in it?

Am I the only person on here who likes/knows this work?

I saw a staged reading of Pavlo Hummel at the Public a year or so ago (I think Philip Seymour Hoffman directed it) . I brought my mom, who saw the Pacino version in Boston when she was a teenager.

I'm definitely excited to see a fully staged version. I think DiCaprio would actually be decent in the role as well.

But when did New Hampshire become--Such a backward wasteland of seatbelt hating crazies?...I mean, only 40 people actually live there. The others are just visitors who come for the tax-free liquor and three inches of novelty coastline. John Hodgeman on The Daily Show (1-30-07)

DiCaprio would cause a bigger stage door ruckus than Denzel and P. Diddy combined!

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

ugh, Denzel. swoon

I would be curious to see Leo's stage presence. I agree that he will probably need to develop his stage tech a little bit. Sometimes he has a tendency to under-speak a little (thats not even a real word but I hope you know what I mean), but maybe he's grown out of that now.

well, if he makes it to broadway maybe he will start giving out actual autographs instead of preprints :o)

*bump*

What ever happened with this? I remembered it the other night and wondered if I was just imagining it all. I'm not a fan of the Leo from the 90's, but I've enjoyed his latest work much more and couldn't wait to see it. Anything said lately about it?

I'm more anxious to see Daniel Craig on stage! I find him to intriguing and a great actor.

I thought this was new. I practically hyperventilated!

So, that was the Drowsy Chaperone. Oh, I love it so much. I know it's not a perfect show...but it does what a musical is supposed to do. It takes you to another world, and it gives you a little tune to carry with you in your head for when you're feeling blue. Ya know?
