Leonardo DiCaprio is apparently in negotiations to star in a fall, 2007 revival of David Rabe's "The Basic Training of Pavlo Hummel."
Daniel Craig, Nicole Kidman, and Al Pacino also have stuff in the works, apparently, according to the highly conservative news source.

I heard about this earlier today, and was so suprised. I never thought he'd cross into theater, but who knew!
Interesting to see what happens
Daniel Craig?!?!? Be still my heart.

"He finally seemed relaxed on screen. An Oscar nomination for “Chicago” and a huge succes d’estime in “Unfaithful” cemented this theory."
Umm, he didn't get an Oscar nom for Chicago. He won the Golden Globe tho, but no Oscar nom...
Thesbijean they were talking about Richard Gere lol. I know I had to re-read it again to double check.
What thesbijean means is that the article says that Richard Gere was nominated for an Oscar for Chicago. He wasn't. He won the Globe, but wasn't even nominated for the Academy Award.

ahh, the old days...
Too bad there was just a revival of THE CRUCIBLE a few seasons ago...Daniel Craig would make a great John Proctor.
This makes me so happy! I think he would be fantastic. Leo and Al Pacino? I will sell my kidneys to see that.
misschung - If only men like that existed in every day life. Perfection is achieved in him. That picture just accentuates it.
I could only imagine the hoopla around that, lol! Student rush lines would be MOBBED!!!!!
Oh good Lord somebody freaking pinch me!!!! My dream is coming true! About a month ago I was thinking how great it would be to see Leo on Broadway...now it might be REAL!!!! AHHHHH!!!!! I could freaking meet him by the stage door! HOLY MOLEY! THIS IS POTENTIALLY SOOO EXCITING!

I just realized the stage door thing - hopefully I have matured in the last 10 years somewhat, since my crush on the lad began, and won't faint if I do meet him...
That would be exciting. DiCaprio has gone from one of my least favorite people to one of the best actors of his generation. Good for him.
I would love to see Daniel Craig and Nicole Kidman in Macbeth.
It's been done to death, but Daniel and Nicole in PRIVATE LIVES would probably be a good choice.
Or maybe BORN YESTERDAY, THE DESK SET (a personal favorite that I don't think has ever been revived on Broadway, too dated?), or THE PHILADELPHIA STORY.
I'm incredibly excited at the prospect of this. I could see DiCaprio being very good onstage. Kidman and Craig would be a dynamite pair!
OMG I cannot even handle this if it is true!! It's a dream!! The second tickets go on sale, They are mine. I don't care if I have to lie, cheat, steal, drop out of school, sell my body or my firstborn child, I WILL be there to see Leo on stage.
The only reason I would see this was if it involved nudity.
I think DiCaprio is a fantastic film actor, but there are great stage actors who I'd rather spend my money on seeing than on a "Limited Engagement" sold out the wazoo with eBay dealers clogging up the stage door. No thanks.
I saw these news on E! today, the stage door would be mad, so girls, don't even dream of meeting him. Leo is a great talented man, rent "What's Eating Gilbert Grape" if you want to see his best work on film.

please, do you know how many times I've seen that film? lol

DiCaprio's a fine actor, intelligent and he has courage, evident from his Howard Hughes role.
I think he could make the transition to stage just fine if he has enough vocal training to develop and project his voice and gets familiar with body placement for the stage. It's easier for men to project their voices anyway; they have more chest voice.
They won't need any student rush, it'll be a gift if they have it. A DiCaprio show could be sold out before first night of previews.
