My grandfather was in the hospital, so I couldn't go see it. I am hoping they come back around so I can catch it. My friend Brionna from school saw it and she said that it was GOOD! She says that the audience loved Diana and they had pretty funny gags dealing with the Wicked Witch and stuff. This sounds like a good number. And according to her Playbill it is the alternate version of "Over the Rainbow".
not bad, but it sounds too country

^^She has been blogging about it as well. She says they recorded a cast album and it is on sale at the show.

I was going to go, but tickets were WAY too pricy. Kinda looks like I should have gone.

Does she sound a little sick to anyone else?
I mean, she still sounds great--but maybe a little congested?

Everything about this shows reeks of tackiness.

It might sound a bit country because that's how her voice is, Diana writes and records country music.
I think she sounded either sick or not fully warmed up. Probably an early morning thing.

I'm sorry to hear about your grandfather. Hope he gets better!
And on a different note, what the hell is up with her hair? She dyed it the color of grape Tylenol!
She definitely sounds sick . . . or starting with something worse. Hope it's just a little cold.

I think her hair looks cute!
I don't see how this is any more tacky than The Wiz, Wicked, the Muppets' Wizard of Oz, etc. etc.
Didn't you audition for this Rentboy? Why would you audition if it was tacky?
And is there/will there be a place to get the CD online?

For anyone that is in the DFW area and missed the show when it was in town, it's coming back to the area on Monday February 23! It'll be playing at the Irving Arts Center! There are only 23 seats or so sold right now....so if you love Diana, you don't want to miss this! I saw it in Dallas and was blown away by Diana and the entire cast that I'm seeing it again!

I wish I was in Dallas! I'd give anything to see Diana perform--she's really amazing live! PLEASE get her back on Broadway!

Unless your hearing it live or on CD it has a full harmonic bandwidth. These little clips they put up are poor quality audio with usually the high end being cut off. A friend saw it and he thought she was amazing. This show is fun and is doing theater good by introducing it to people that have never been before. Building interest is key to marketing.

Todrick Hall is doing an absolutely ****ty job with this entire production. He's getting theaters far too big for a show this new AND he's waiting until the last minute to finalize dates and put tickets onsale. You don't wait until a week or 10 days before a show to make tickets available. There is almost zero advertising of the shows. Why hire Diana if you aren't going to use her to promote the hell out of the shows all over Texas? I think it's actually a cute show (geared towards tweens mostly)but it is suffering because Hall didn't get the dates and advertising worked out BEFORE the tour started.

Diana was also on MYFOX in Dallas. Diana's song, "Someday", was not cutoff by commercial. Here is the link to that performance.

The shows on February 24-26-Huntsville, Tx at the Old Town Theatre, are in conjunction with an organization called Expedition Broadway, which is an organization that gets kids involved in theater.
That song was disgusting. Friggin' Wedding Singer had more poignant material.
The song was interesting... but I don't know... this production seems so shady, it's like a lawsuit waiting to happen.
