Reading about Kay Medford's Gypsy album which I had never heard about brought to mind Miss Ross' turn as Fanny Brice on Diana Ross & The Supremes Sing and Perform Funny Girl. I first heard the lp many years ago. It has to be heard to be believed. I find the "Sing and Perform" part of the title the most interesting.
There is also an alternate back cover with liner notes by Jule Styne.
Here's the album on YouTube -

Apple Music has it. They have the best selection of cast albums in my opinion.
Apple Music version also has a 2014 remastered edition, so it's like a two-for-one. No, I don't work for Apple...ha ha...
I found the LP decades ago and have had this on my iTunes for years and it's still a fun listen. Still love Miss Ross' funky "Don't Rain on My Parade" and... for your viewing pleasure, here is Diana Ross and The Supremes (Mary Wilson and Cindy Birdsong) performing a FUNNY GIRL medley on The Ed Sullivan Show in 1968:

I wonder if Miss Ross ever had any Broadway aspirations?
Well, she WAS on Broadway during the Summer of 1976. ![]()

Barbra HATED this album - it was released in conjunction with the hype of the "Funny Girl" film.
I'm listening to it now...very Vegas but a lot of fun, too.
I love this album. Also, The Supremes sing Rodgers & Hart.
Diana Ross needs to put out a broadway album to compete with Barbra's new one.
