I did...more details (and pictures!) coming in a few minutes!
Okay all it was was a large picture of the original cast. They came out for about 15 minutes and posed for pictures with the press while signing a billboard.
Here are some pics. I don't understand why some came out different sizes! I'm so mad because the ones I wanted of Jonathan Groff are small. Oh well.

Lol, you forgot to post the pics
I didn't forget, I wanted a separate post for them. Sorry they are bad quality, I only had my cell!
By the way, Skylar Astin won't be in today's matinee performance. He's doing a reading of 9 to 5. He should be in tonight, though.

Good photos.
Whole idea? Just dumb.
I think it's a nice billboard.
About the whole being dumb thing...maybe it wasn't necessary to create this "event" out of it but, hey, I got to see the cast...
Where is this billboard? Is it after the stage door (like if you are facing the SD, to the right)? The picture itself is interesting considering they aren't wearing their costumes. I wonder if its somewhat decieving to the average tourist.
PS. It reminds me of the RENT "No Day but Today" ads.
It is on the left of the stage door.

I agree. It's a nice billboard but the whole event just seems dramatic and unnecessary.
^^Yeah I completely agree.
This may be a dumb question, but aren't the signatures going to be ruined after the first big windy thunderstorm?
It was nothing really. It was about 15 minutes of them signing the billboard and taking pictures for the press, such as Playbill.com. They didn't even sign stuff for fans. Not a lot of people showed up.
Ya I agree, I don't get it.
They will probably cover it in glass to protect it from rain and other stuff.

The ad actually reminds me of 2nd Stage's subUrbia press shot from last season.
I don't really get it either. It's a nice picture of them, though.
Are their pictures actually on the billboard? It doesn't look like it. If they aren't, what I would have done was had their pictures on the billboard, in those poses, in those clothes. I think it would be a nice "connection", so to speak, between the characters they play and representing/connecting with teens of today. (Whom they want to see the show) Just a thought.
Edit: Just looked closer and their pictures ARE on the billboard. So I bet that's what they are going for.
I don't like the billboard itself. They are selling the casts looks, not that show itself.

I've seen Spring Awakening twice (once in January, once last week), and enjoyed it very much both times. I loved the cast even more than the show, having met most of them. That said, does anyone else get the sense that pretty much everything they do is so self-serving and somewhat conceited? This, the Tony performance, even actual performances, when they hold for a 2+ minute ovation after "Totally F*cked" and come out for a third round of company bows at the end... it's all annoying to me.
I just think that the producers heads might be getting a little bit too big for their own good.
Thanks for the pics!!
Dramatic and unnecessary? Interesting....same could be said about the show. :)
