Just wondering.
Alrighty, then, guess not. Anybody have any guess as to when?
Obviously you should be terrified that they're going to go back on strike.
^All kidding aside, that would be just my luck.

They have ten days to ratify the agreement Glinda. You'll know when it's official. In my experience, I have found that ratification is just a formality. Generally, if the Union leaders are accepting of the new contract, the rank and file will follow suit. Although it has happened that rank and file members have voted down a new contract, I can't see that happening with Local One, but then I'm not involved enough to say for sure.
I'm sure localonecrew and CurtainPullDowner could tell us for sure, but they're probably working. YaY!

I am going for my first time ever to NYC on December 14th-17th... I am praying they ratify it - they will right?! I am so happy the strike is over but now I am worried about this - I want to see Legally Blonde soooo bad!!!
Everyone keeps saying it's just a formality at this point. And I seriously doubt that the stagehands would go and blow the deal at this point. You're probably out of the woods.

ratification can't happen until the membership is given a 10-day notice prior to the meeting where the ratification discussion and vote will take place, so yeah, 12/9 sounds about right (I assume my notice is in the mail). Ratification is not "just a formality" nor is it guaranteed, but it would be extremely unusual for a contract to come before the membership with the executive board's recommendation and then be voted down.
Oh well. Only thing we can do is sit tight and hope for the best. At least the big battle's over.
It's highly unlikely that this won't go through. There's no need to sit around and worry that there's going to be a problem again.

Sorry---I didn't see this thread---I just posted that they're meeting today---(keeping fingers crossed)
Moderately interesting article. I'd say we should know by the seven o'clock news.
Have a Look
According to Bloomberg.com, it's been ratified, and passed "overwhelmingly".
Broadway Stagehands Ratify 5-Year Labor Pact `Overwhelmingly'
By Philip Boroff and Dan Hart
Dec. 9 (Bloomberg) -- Broadway stagehands in New York City ratified a new contract today, following a 19-day strike that cost shuttered shows tens of millions of dollars in lost revenue.
About 1,000 members attending a meeting voted ``overwhelmingly' to approve the contract, said Bruce Cohen, a spokesman for Local 1 of the International Association of Theatrical Stage Employees.
``Every hand went up in the room but one,' he said. The union has about 3,000 members.
The five-year agreement for Local 1 provides for about 4 percent in annual pay increases in exchange for some liberalized work rules that Broadway producers sought.
The strike resulted in the closing of 26 shows and cancellation of about 550 performances. A newly adapted Mark Twain play, ``Is He Dead?', which was originally scheduled to premiere last month, opens tonight.
By the most conservative estimate, the strike cost the New York City economy about $2 million a day, according to city Comptroller William Thompson.

Wow. How awkward to be the one guy that didn't raise his hand.

It's a relief, at least, even if it was expected.
Probably not uncomfortable. I know lots of people that will not vote for ANY contract. It stands on principle...if we didn't get EVERYTHING we wanted, I will not vote for it.
Personally: I have voted for VERY few of my contracts (not local one), knowing darn well they would go through anyway.
