I didn't know that Marc and Scott are "former" romantic partners. When did this happen and who got the kids? Please tell me this is an editorial error.
Also, Marc, if you are reading this, a "Cast Album" is a recording of a live musical production, a "Soundtrack" is a recording for a film. Jeesh, you'd think that some one who has a Tony and who will one day have an Oscar might know the difference. Even elphabagreengirl4 knows THAT!

I was saddened to read of their parting in the TheaterMania article. I smiled when they kissed on the Tony's.
Though, they're both attractive (o.k., Marc Shaiman falls into the "Cute as a bug's ear" category) and now both are single.

Actually, Theatredude,they were more than dating, they have been in a long term relationship for a number of years. And although it might seem that I started this thread as a joke or to spread a rumor, I didn't mean it to be flip. I read that in the article and had never heard that they had broken up, and God knows news like that would spread pretty fast around here. I was just questioning the truth in the article. If it's true it makes me sad and I hope both are happy and moving on. If it is not true, I would hope someone would point that out to TM staff and have it retracted.

sueleen, I didn't find your initial post flip or anything of the sort at all, fwiw. Remember last year when Craig posted a message of congrats to March and Scott re. their 25th anniversary? If you search the boards, you can find that thread ... will see if I can link it ... from January 2005. I remember thinking that it was cool that they'd been together as long as my husband and I, only even longer, since we were married in May 1980.
Just realized something else too .. we've been spelling Scott's last name wrong in this thread, I believe. It's Wittman, isn't it? I always want to type "Whittman" or Whitman" myself ... usually Craig comes along and corrects us. :)
(ETA: sorry, sueleen, didn't notice you'd already caught that! duh! Have also corrected the title in my posts in this thread.)
I saw them together at the DRS opening (and didn't know who they were, that's how Broadway-dumb I was at the time). Remember thinking how cute they looked. Later, via this board, I exchanged some very cordial PM's with Marc. Sweet man.
Anyway ... agree with what you just said ... re. "if it's true..." and "if it is not..."

That was kind of a joke that even someone who has been nominated for an Oscar and won a Tony doesn't know the difference, or care either. It really ruffles some people's feathers, though.

I deny the rumor that I was the cause of the breakup--and that I have been named correspondent in the divorce by both parties. It's simply not true. Really.

If they did break up, that doesn't mean they aren't going to stay friends. A lot of couples break up and still stay friends. They have not only a romantic but professional relationship, and probably are still on good terms.
