Just wondering.
before everyone cyber punches you no they didn't. they only had to see one.
Okay. It makes sense that they do that though. How can there be a join nomination? Just cause of one actor it determines the results for 3?
I still think it's ridiculous.
As do I. They should see all three. BTW, since there is no Broadway cast recording planned, who is the Billy on the OLCR?
I saw this on the BE Store website:
"Please note.. There is no planned Broadway recording at this time"
That might change by tomorrow. lol. They din't do one for the Mary Poppins OBC and kept the OLC. I think that they SHOULD do it based on Tony publicity, but IDK.
Even if the voters didn't see all three, I think that was the right thing to do. Given that they're so young and aren't competing against one another, it would only be fair.
The Billy on the OLCR is Liam Mower, one of the original London Billys.
They should do a Broadway cast recording, but they won't. There's no real reason to when most tourists don't even realize that they're not purchasing a recording of the original Broadway cast. It says original cast on the cover, conveniently leaving out the word "London" and that's good enough for them.
I'd love a new recording. I like the changes they've made to the score since the original London incarnation. And I always like more cast recordings. Who doesn't?

Decca released the OLC and they would control the rights to a second CD. When was the last time we had an OLC and and OBC of the same show? KISS OF THE SPIDER WOMAN?
Cast albums are NOT "soundtracks."
Live theatre does not use a "soundtrack." If it did, it wouldn't be live theatre!
I host a weekly one-hour radio program featuring cast album selections as well as songs by cabaret, jazz and theatre artists. The program, FRONT ROW CENTRE is heard Sundays 9 to 10 am and also Saturdays from 8 to 9 am (eastern times) on www.proudfm.com
I believe so. I can't think of any in the past decade.
