Dining Suggestions

One of the few "rules" my son and I have when in the city is at least one restaurant we hit must be one we've never eaten at before.

So, is there anything relatively new that we should check out? Or perhaps a hidden jewel? We're pretty outgoing with our willingness to try new foods....so any enthnicity or even bizarre concept is welcome.

While the cost needn't be cheap, looking to spend under $100 bucks for dinner.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

My sister and I also like to try new restaurants when we visit so this time it's Spoonfed NYC. But also we will be trying Nizza for the first time too.

I also love Nizza!

Not new, but a friend and I recently went to Donburiya on 55th Street. The goma saba ochazuke was fantastic.

A place I've been recommending more and more lately is Gossip Bar on 50th and 9th. It's become a go to gathering spot for a number of stage managers where we'll often do our larger group outings. Good food (mostly Irish pub fare), decently priced, and seems to be just out of the way enough that it's never crazy packed.

Sen Sakana on W. 44th. Peruvian/Japanese fusion. 4-course prix fixe for $49 including tip. Scrumptious!

Taboon on 10th Ave and 52nd St. Wonderful Mediterranean food. My daughter and I ate there twice during our recent trip to the city. If you like eggplant, don't miss the roasted melanzane with cherry tomato sauce and burrata.

There's also the new Taco Bell Cantina on 50th and 8th that half of Broadway (literally? figuratively? both?) crapped their pants over
