Heading in to see it tonight (first night of previews). It'll be nice to be back at the Imperial (after BFO and Les Mis). I see Nick Wyman is in the cast - first time for him back at the Imperial since being a great Thernardier in Les Mis!!! Updated On: 1/31/05 at 07:48 AM

Nick is standby for Lithgow. So you won't be seeing him ON stage until the rest of the audience is groaning. As for me, I'll be there CHEERING wildly. I want to see this show regardless.

Do you know who the other standyby's/understudies are for the rest of the cast?

Nick Wyman is one of my favortie actors (the first person whose carerr I followed)
I want to see him onstage - but I want to see John too.....hmmm
I was in the audience for the final dress rehearsal today--fun, fun, fun, fun, fun show. And I am now a huge fan of NLB. :)
Norbert is an amazing actor. I want to see him in this role so badly!!!!
Isn't Norbert wonderful?
A friend told me she LOVED it out in San Diago. I hope they didn't change too much....she said is was great!
Any news about a cast recording?
I'm madly in love with Sherie Rene Scott ever since I saw her perform in Landscape of the Body a few years ago. One of my favorite singing voices ever.
According to a little note in this Sundays NY Times re upcoming Broadway musicals, DRS is supposed to be crude & full of obcenities. Sounds like the new season is shaping up nicely
DRS is reccomended for ages 11 and up. Can't be that obcene.
Chicago and Ave Q are 12 and up. So, it's probally not too bad.
People seeing the preview, must report back to us!!!! Can't wait to hear how it went.
this is ort of random. But how tall is Norbert Leo Butz?
i thought you'd be the one who'd asnwer that question. HAHA.
i'm dying to read a review! anyone back from the show yet?
gosh--I guess my rave about it wasn't enough.
Just got back from the first preview - it's GREAT!!! Predict it will do VERY well, can't see how they will change much if anything before opening night. Looked very polished. It started a little slow, but ramped up quickly when Mr. Butz did his number. After that, it was great all the way. Crowd was very enthusiastic, applauding, laughing a lot, nice well-deserved standing O at the end. Have seen 7 shows in the past three weeks, this one's a winner!
Noticed Brooke Shields in the audience - also noticed that they already have Sweet Charity stuff up replacing Wonderful Town stuff!
The movie itself starts a little slow, but it's great to know you loved the show! I'm so excited to see it later this year.
Can you give us a bit more detail? What was your fav. part?

Well that makes 2 raves--looking good for the scoundrels. :)
Ken8631--if you should happen to have the time, could you post the current song listing for the show. I saw it the night after it opened to the press in San Diego last September and I'd be really curious to see how much has changed. If you do that favor for me, I'll post the original list and we can see what's been cut, changed, added...
From Playbill.com ...
The musical numbers listed in the Playbill at the start of previews are Overture, "Give Them What They Want," "What Was a Woman to Do?," "Great Big Stuff," "Chimp in a Suit," "Oklahoma?," "All About Ruprecht," "What Was a Woman to Do?" (reprise), "Here I Am," "Nothing Is Too Wonderful to Be True," "The Miracle" (Act I finale), Entr'acte, "Rüffhousin' mit Shüffhausen," "Like Zis/Like Zat," "The More We Dance," "Love Is My Legs," "Love Sneaks In," "Like Zis/Like Zat" (reprise), "Son of Great Big Stuff," "The Reckoning," "Dirty Rotten Number," Finale.
yep - that's what's in my playbill from last night..... And also what I heard (sometimes they don't go by what's in the Playbill).
Thanks for the review. I'm taking 28 high school kids to NY in March, and this is the show we're seeing. Cannot wait.
